S'more

This week's challenge at DRS Designs is "A Real Cutie" - use an image, die cut, technique, paper, or other item that is considered to be a real cutie.  I used this adorable image from DRS Designs called Smooshed S'more and the greeting is called Melt for You Greeting.

 
 
I wanted to create the look of a campfire so I sponged on Summer Sun ink on the middle of the base and top layer, then I took Memento Black and sponged it around the very edges, then followed with Tim Holtz Walnut, and then Tim Holtz Barn Door.  I tied on some raffia because it screams Fall to me and that is when I love a campfire/bonfire.

    This is amazing. You did achieve the campfire/barn fire look very well. You picked the perfect colors for it. I love the little marshmallow but felt sorry for him also. He knew he was a gon'er. LOL It looks like the baby will be staying in the hospital for a few extra days, but she is doing remarkably well so I think the shower date has moved out a week, probably on the 23rd, just before she comes home. We don't want to jinx anything. Thanks again for your help. Enjoy your day. It is cooling down here today but the rain is coming it.

Hello Crafty Friends! I love Halle's theme at **Art*Journal*Journey* this month: Botanicals. So many possibilities... I combined the botanical theme with some of the colors in ARTNUDGE#725A and came up with this Bible Art Journal page focusing on 1 Timothy 2:1-2. I also made a patriotic prayer card too. In these verses, Paul tells Timothy (and all of us) to pray for everyone but he especially calls out prayer for kings and leaders. He indicates that this type of prayer could lead us to a tranquil and quite life in all godliness and dignity. I think we can all agree that the world needs much prayer right now and it is an easy step we can take.   I experimented on this journal page. I usually cover any bible journal pages with gesso before painting on them, but I have issues with the gesso gumming up my Micron pens or unevenly taking color. Wise Words for Life's Storms

 My first post as a Guest Designer for Creative Worship Stamps. This watercolor and ink card features one of my favorite CWS sentiments - Big God . I am so grateful He is there in storms and this stamp beautifully underscores His power. The main panel of this card is watercolor paper and was painted with Daniel Smith Watercolors and Liquid Ink (the white highlights in the rain drops).
