Catching Up

Another crazy busy week last week.  My favorite part (other than spending time with my family, especially the grandbabies) was a Bible Journaling class my daughter bought me for an early Christmas present.  I can see it will be a great way for me to combine my love of creating with my love of God.  I combined the two for the IC challenge on SCS on Saturday when Audrie had us look over one of her Pinterest Boards and select an inspiration.  Here is what I came up with (don't focus on my lack of drawing or writing skills - just focus on the fact that I have started Bible Journaling and I am so excited!!!  Here is the Pin that inspired me if you want to check it out.


I picked another inspirational pin and did this card:

Also did one last Thanksgiving card at the end of last week that I never got to post:


It is for the current challenge at DRS Designs which is still open through tomorrow.  It is all about color and the colors are gorgeous!!!  I used several DRS Designs stamps on this one:

    Both are amazing cards and I'm so happy for you to receive that wonderful gift from your daughter. Perfect sponging on both cards. they are just beautiful and very meaningful. How are those babies doing? Great I hope. Wishing you the best Thanksgiving ever with these new newest family members.

    Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours. How fun to enjoy with new Grand-babies this year. I have loved the bible journal for some time. It would be a beautiful keepsake with your own journaling and drawings.

Language Plays, Billiard Balls, and Some "Interesting" Wine

 I always look forward to the new **Art*Journal*Journey* Theme each month. The May theme was chosen by Elle and she chose Language as the theme. So many cool things you can do with that theme.  This weekend I chose to do the Language(s) of God in my Journaling Bible.  When I started, I was going to do Fasting as a way of speaking to God but after listening to a Sermon on Fasting, I realized that was more complicated and I would have to study it more first. So I switched gears midstream and just did some of ways that God speaks to us and vice versa.  There are many more, but I put the ones I could think of quickly here.   The papers are from an old hymnal and Close to My Heart (CTMH).  The gnome is CTMH as well.  Now I have played with all the gnomes in the set,and I totally love them. Some Penguins

Today kicks off the newest Pattie's Creations Challenge which is Tags . Just Tags. No cards with Tags on or in them - just tags. I love to make just tags so this one was right up my alley. I used the super cute Penguin image from Pattie's Creations, but I couldn't stop at just one so I made a little penguin family. My tag is made from an old cardboard box top which I peeled down, painted, distressed a bit, and then added some snow medium. My bow is actually a new bow designed by Pamela Lehto (available at Squigglefly tomorrow). Stamps, Books, Found Relatives, and More Food

 Don't you love getting new stuff?  This is my fun new stuff from  Red Lead Paperworks .   I ordered the fun vintage looking deer stamp and the three Christmas greetings - all were on sale a few weeks ago.  I love getting their packages because they always send some extra little goodies like collage sheets and old tickets plus even their packaging is cute and reusable.  The sheet with the leaves and acorns on the bottom is the other side of the invoice so you can reuse it as well.  I can't wait to play with these fun goodies.  Here is a look at my current reading pile.  I checked Basil's War by Stephen Hunter from the library, my daughter lent me The Paper Palace, and I bought The Host, Going Back to Petrey, and The Lady in Blue from the Thrift Store.
