Christmas Cocoa

The Outlaws Paper A La Mode Challenge is Christmas in July (great chance to get some Christmas Cards done if you want to join us.  One of my biggest dilemmas at work is what to get everyone that is cute and doesn't cost a fortune (there are 33 of us).  I found this great image from Dollar Graphics Depot called Christmas Coffee and Cocoa and it gave me a great idea.  I printed out the image making sure it was on the right side of the paper so I could score it, fold it, and make the card straight from the image.  Then I used the other image to pop up the sleeve and the gingerbread man. I sponged the sides with distress ink and stickled up the sparkles and icing. Super fast card which will be perfect when I do 33 of them.



I can slip in a packet of cocoa and it will be a fun little gift.

Flowers, a Flag, and Some Wise Words

Hello Crafty Friends! I love Halle's theme at **Art*Journal*Journey* this month: Botanicals. So many possibilities... I combined the botanical theme with some of the colors in ARTNUDGE#725A and came up with this Bible Art Journal page focusing on 1 Timothy 2:1-2. I also made a patriotic prayer card too. In these verses, Paul tells Timothy (and all of us) to pray for everyone but he especially calls out prayer for kings and leaders. He indicates that this type of prayer could lead us to a tranquil and quite life in all godliness and dignity. I think we can all agree that the world needs much prayer right now and it is an easy step we can take.   I experimented on this journal page. I usually cover any bible journal pages with gesso before painting on them, but I have issues with the gesso gumming up my Micron pens or unevenly taking color. This time I used Daniel Smith Ground Medium in Titanium White (I mixed it with 10 parts water). I loved it and will be using it in the fut...

Unopened Mail And My Grocery List

We arrived back from our Las Vegas trip last night so the only thing on my Kitchen Counter is unopened mail and my grocery list.  I have looked up the recipes for most the great food we ate (or wish we ate) in Las Vegas including Bacon Waffles and Chicken and Waffles - so my counter top should look awesome tomorrow (or as soon as I get a waffle maker).  We had lots of fun in Las Vegas but not as much as Crystal and Joey.  If we were still 21 we would have had a blast!  No luck with gambling - but I only gained 1 pound which is a miracle!
