Smile and Joy

Hello friends!
Much inspiration in the Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoaststampers today.  I picked this lovely basket as my inspiration.  Here is my card:

I love how my ink smooshing bg and flower came out. 

After finishing it, I decided to try a BAJ using the same techniques and inspirational picture. 

Today was a hard day.  I attended my ex-husband's funeral
in support of him and my daughters. 

I tried over the years to get him to open up about Christ
and he always told me not to worry because he would be ok. The last few years
he suffered from Parkinson's and the ravages it takes on a body. 
His cousin is a Gideon, and he shared a story at the funeral of his last visit. Overton told him he wanted to go to heaven and wanted Jesus.
My girls were lucky enough to watch him pray on their last few visits. 

What a joy and peace for us all to know we will see him again and Hades did not have another victory. Lovely words in 1 Corinthians 15: 55-57.

    Oh wow Nancy - that is fantastic - my ex-husband is still walloping in his bad habits - I know there is still hope for his salvation, and I am sad for our adult son and all that he has gone through in his life time -however, my son has moved on and is doing so much better with a lovely family and his own Christian walk in life - thanks for stopping by my blog - I love your card and the Bible Journaling page as well -- I have been doing a bible on line Study with journaling[email me for the code for the free study if you are interested - you can download all of the stuff and still have time to catch up or do it at your own pace - there are free stickers and stuff as well]- I journal in a spiral notebook - the class has come to a halt until June 7 - so I have not been in my Bible journaling for a bit due to this class and other things that have kept me busy - we moved to a new town and I am still getting things organize here but I am afraid I am spending more time crafting with my new toy - a Portrait die cutting machine, than I am getting the things done - we have found a new church here in our area - after visiting several - so we believe we will be planting our feet there to serve - OK - I have rattled on enough - so sorry that your ex had to suffer with Parkinson's and all the complications - I wish you the best in your crafting journey and life--- have a lovely SON-day tomorrow!     Oh, wow! I favorited this card on SCS because I loved it so much but I didn't know about your ex-husband. I am so sorry. A loss is always difficult but what beauty too. Such a good feeling to know that your daughters were kind and loving through a difficult time. What a beautiful thing to know that he is with Christ now!!! Hugs.

    A beautiful card as ever. And the journalling page even more so. Sad to learn about your Husband but glad that he did pray during his last days. I am sure he is resting in peace.
    Thank you for the encouraging words about my support for the sex workers. I am grateful for the inspiration that I receive from the universe. And it makes me forget my own challenges. 🙏🏽

Unopened Mail And My Grocery List

We arrived back from our Las Vegas trip last night so the only thing on my Kitchen Counter is unopened mail and my grocery list.  I have looked up the recipes for most the great food we ate (or wish we ate) in Las Vegas including Bacon Waffles and Chicken and Waffles - so my counter top should look awesome tomorrow (or as soon as I get a waffle maker).  We had lots of fun in Las Vegas but not as much as Crystal and Joey.  If we were still 21 we would have had a blast!  No luck with gambling - but I only gained 1 pound which is a miracle!

Christmas Mice

Hello Crafty Friends, Today, I am playing in some fun challenges with this cute card: The current House-Mouse &Friends Monday Challenge HMFMC #461 is Anything Goes with an optional theme of Pastels. I have some pastel paper in my layers. This card was made with ornaments from a SU! set, a cut up sentiment from RedLead Paperworks, and three mice I cut out of the Spellbinders Sew Sweet stamp set. The background was inspired by Jeanne Streiff's MIX challenge on Splitcoaststampers.com last Friday where she asked us to make a background using a die cut as a stencil.

T is For 10 Years of T-Day, Too much food, and The Art (Always the Art)

Hello Friends. Most of today's post is about celebrating 10 years of Elizabeth hosting T-day parties on her blog .  If you have visited me before, you know that I regularily participate in T-day where we all post something about a drink of any type (the drink can be anything including water and the post can be a real drink, words, movies, art, etc.) on Tuesday (or Monday lol) and link it to Elizabeth's T-day blog post for the week.   This year Elizabeth is asking us to post several things in celebration of the big anniversary.   #1.   Post a picture of something that makes the number 10. I used 10 art supplies that were near me.  I am starting to make more Christmas cards so these were right at hand.  #2.   Post our regular T-day picture/post.  My drink picture today is a lunch we had in Tybee Island last week during our Georgia trip.  We ate at Pier 16 .  Great food and service.
