PLAID, PLAID, PLAID!

I think plaid is such a fun word.  It is kind of fun to say especially if you say it three times fast!

I have three plaid creations today - 2 cards and one scrapbook page for a co-worker's retirement book.

The retirement book has 36 pages - each person working with Jimmy is making up a page full of memories and well wishes.  I put a bunch of things I will miss most about him in the pocket with my picture on it.  I know he is going to love this book. 

One of the girls at work got THIS great little printer from Amazon that prints small pictures straight from your camera. She took one of each of us and we are all making our own pages. 

I was inspired on this page by a plaid shirt from the SCS Inspiration site - Paper & Stitch.


My next creation is a card made with a plaid stencil.  I was inspired by a Fall colored Tea Towel from One Kings Lane.  Since I am still on a Western Kick, I added some fun boots from the DRS Designs 4-in-1 Cowboy Gear image and the fun Boots and Bling  Sentiment.


Since I had the stencil out, I just made up another card adding in more colors and a Happy Birthday image and leaves from DRS Designs.

    Fabulous Plaid creations Nancy, I love plaid as well, I think it is especially good for masculine and Autumn/winter makes. Your first project is fabulous, lots of super details and I love the super plaid stencil.

Today kicks off the newest Pattie's Creations Challenge which is Tags . Just Tags. No cards with Tags on or in them - just tags. I love to make just tags so this one was right up my alley. I used the super cute Penguin image from Pattie's Creations, but I couldn't stop at just one so I made a little penguin family. My tag is made from an old cardboard box top which I peeled down, painted, distressed a bit, and then added some snow medium. A Bit of Tea, Horses, and a Cowboy

 I love when my children follow in my footsteps and beyond (only the cool footsteps, of course).   My daughter, Allie, has developed a love of tea.  She sent me this picture over the weekend of her having tea in her newly remodelled bedroom.   She was drinking Breakfast in Paris tea in one of her favorite thrift store mugs.  This is my ticket to the T-day gathering over at Elizabeth's blog .  To join us, all you have to do is have a drink related post (can be any type of drink).   The neighborhood horses have been gathering in our backyard for some reason. Our horse refuses to come up near our house because the lady who owns all these horses gives her much better treats.  They all jump the fences and visit everyone.  The mule in the picture is actually named after me because I named one of cows after the neighbor (he paid me back - lol). I gave them apples when they came on Sunday, and they have come back every day since - lol....

Forest Goodies and Other Projects

 Hello Crafty Friends. I just got the Stamperia Forest Paper and Die Cuts in the mail so I had to play with them right away.   I have a combo creation - journal page and card.  On the journal page I used my 6x6 Dina Wakley Journal and laid a base of gesso.  I then used Dina's pastel crayons and some SU! inks and stamps.  Also added in some TH Dress Ink in Vintage Photo since I don't know how to make anything without it  (seriously).   The eagle is a Stamperia Forest die cut and is coated with gesso.  Did a bit of stenciling and distressing to finish the page off.  I am linking this the the **Art*Journal*Journey* September Texture Theme (last day - can't wait to see what October's Theme will be).  The die cut and the little smears add texture to the already very textured page.   I love the blue and green together and was inspired to made a quick card for my Son-in-law who cut down some tree limbs for us the other day....
