Diamonds and Tea

A few fun cards to share with you today.

My first card is made with the SU! Tea Together set.  I have a small collection of teapots so I had to get this set (a little of one of my teapots is in the upper left corner).  I made the bg by doing watercolor stripes across the page.  Next I stamped the images and colored them with a watercolor brush and some ink.  Splattered on some watercolors when I was done.  I went over the images with a thin Sharpie because the inks faded the lines out.

On my next card, I used Rooted in Nature and Strong and Beautiful.


The background evolved on this one.  I started with a watercolor wash, then paint flecks, then some white acrylic paint smooshed in, then stamps, then gel medium flecks, then sprinkle of Dazzling Diamonds (SU!).  The colors and ideas were from two inspiration photos in the SCS Inspiration Challenge (a diamond ring and some red leaves).

Hope you had a nice Easter.  Our family had a wonderful time, and I ate way to much!

    Both cards are so pretty Nancy, I know so many people who would love that teapot, the colours of the second are perfect, I love the pinks and browns :)

    Love the shabby chic appearance of the first one. I am a big fan of teapots too. And all kinds of ceramic and wooden pots. What a clever idea to make those stripes and the water colour splashes look so becoming.

Hello Crafty Friends! I love Halle's theme at **Art*Journal*Journey* this month: Botanicals. So many possibilities... I combined the botanical theme with some of the colors in ARTNUDGE#725A and came up with this Bible Art Journal page focusing on 1 Timothy 2:1-2. I also made a patriotic prayer card too. In these verses, Paul tells Timothy (and all of us) to pray for everyone but he especially calls out prayer for kings and leaders. He indicates that this type of prayer could lead us to a tranquil and quite life in all godliness and dignity. I think we can all agree that the world needs much prayer right now and it is an easy step we can take.   I experimented on this journal page. I usually cover any bible journal pages with gesso before painting on them, but I have issues with the gesso gumming up my Micron pens or unevenly taking color. Wise Words for Life's Storms

 My first post as a Guest Designer for Creative Worship Stamps. This watercolor and ink card features one of my favorite CWS sentiments - Big God . I am so grateful He is there in storms and this stamp beautifully underscores His power. The main panel of this card is watercolor paper and was painted with Daniel Smith Watercolors and Liquid Ink (the white highlights in the rain drops).
