Hello crafty friends.
I remember reading that Benjamin Franklin tried to keep track of his sins for a week and that didn't work out too well. Then he boiled it down to 7 virtues he tried to keep. That one worked out much better and evidently helped him to become a better person. I love this quote:
I couldn't wait to try a go at Halle's new **Art*Journal*Journey* theme: a stitch in time.
Started with this lovely old song page from a vintage song book (found free at an outdoor flea markert) and some stash paper. Added in a pre-stamped tag and lovely lady from REDlead, a tag frm my stash tied with a bow, some scraps from various items, and some ephemera from Tim. Topped it off some some fake stitching.
The tag pulls out and has some verses from Psalm 119.
I know I need some more instruction and need to be way better. I pray that I make better decisions and involve the Lord more in them. I am thinking there are a few people out there looting and hurting others that need some more instruction as well. Why are we all so weak and disobedient? Each of us is disobedient in our own way - obvious or not and in more ways than we think. I sit and work at my computer doing work things and thinking I am not doing anything wrong. Then I get snippy with hubby at lunch, neglect to check on my Pop, forget to give thanks at lunch, act too decisively in a meeting, judge someone (probably unfairly) while watching the news, etc.

Beautiful crafting with a great message. Love the quote from Benjamin Franklin, so true. We all need to try harder just to try to make our world a better place. Things just scary just now. Hugs, Valerie

ReplyDeleteWhat an incredibly beautiful journal page, Nancy. This is so beautiful and the vintage lady was great. I also like that you used a tag in a pocket. The quote is quite true. We all have imperfections, but if we try, we can reduce them or even eliminate a few. Thank you so much for sharing this with us at Art Journal Journey using Halle's theme. ReplyDeleteBut hey, thank God for Jesus and for the fact that our sin has been thrown as far away as East to West! Every day is brand new and an opportunity to start afresh with God. He knows what he's doing, thankfully :-)
ReplyDeleteI'd never have dreamed of adding collage to my Bible but this works so well. I did get mine out yesterday to journal the psalm we were reading in Intercession...didn't do the art, though. I really must work on that today.

I have never seen collage on a Bible Journal before but this is lovely. I especially like the idea of the tag with the verses from the Psalm on it, and the music at the top of the page.
