Lots of Fun Art Journaling and a Few Cards

 Hello crafty friends,

I had fun creating this weekend.  Here are some of my creations - the ones I am willing to share - LOL.

My first one is in my new journaling book and it was inspired by THIS picture on the SCS inspiration challenge and Valerie's Heavy Metal Theme (the Stickles Gel has metallic circles in it) at **ART*JOURNAL*JOURNEY*.   This kind of reminds me of my hair color right now as I am trying to go all gray and my stylist is mixing in a few different colors to help.

I played with some Stickles gel that had stars in it too so it also fits the AJJ theme.  If you like Big Bang theory like I do you might get a kick out of my Sheldon-isms.

I did a few BAJ pages too. This one was on the page starting the New Testament in my journaling Bible.  I used torn book and hymnal pages for the maintains and clouds.  It was loosely done after watching a watercolor video from the SCS watercolor challenge this past week.

More painted circles in Philippians.

Made a few cards this past week too.

This first one is almost all Stamperia Forest goodies - an old SU! sentiment from Elements of Style.  I was a case of THIS card by Dawn Mercedes on SCS  - she was the featured stamper this week.

Made these pumpkin square recipe cards for the recipe card swap with my scrapbook group.  Was inspired by the midmonth inspiration challenge on Mission Inspiration (Facebook group).  We were supposed to use hands.  I dipped my hands in ink and stamped them on to resemble a well used recipe card. LOL.
I did this card for last week's Featured Stamper Challenge on SCS. It was inspired by THIS card by Linda (hotwheels).  I know it looks nothing like it but things in my head just took a different direction.  The image and sentiment are new at DRS Designs.
Thanks for dropping by.  I really appreciate it!

  5. So much fantastic art Nancy. You did have a fun weekend. I love the idea of glitter in my hair rather than grey. Smile. Thanks for sharing them with us at Art Journal Journey. It was fun seeing these creations. Happy new week. Hugs-Erika

  6. OMG Nancy so many amazing creations. Your Sheldonisms are awesome, and love your BJ pages.

  7. Lovely pages and cards - the earthy colour tones and lovely layering of the deer card particularly appeal to me, and I enjoyed the bubbles of Sheldon-isms!

  8. A super collection of makes Nancy, you have been busy! I love the first journal page, I must have lots of strands of glitter in my hair, I gave up dying it years ago, they are all fabulous though. The Stamperia card is gorgeous, I think this is my favourite Stamperia collection and the recipe cards are a great idea, super inking on the final card - I should think you need another weekend to rest after creating all of these!

  9. Awesome creations Nancy! I love your first page, her sparkly hair is gorgeous and your forest card is stunning, love the papers, I need to add them to my wish list! :)
    Take care, Tammy

  10. Wow, so many fabulous pages and cards today - live them all! The grey hair of your beautiful green eyed lady is amazing, it reminds me that my hair could do with some TLC as our hairdressers are closed at the moment with lockdown 😉. The Forest Stamperia card is so beautifully layered too! Wishing you a wonderful week! Hugs, Jo x

  11. What a lovely idea to describe grey hairs as strands of glitter and it's a lovely painting too.
I read all your Sheldonisms and enjoyed and then got distracted trying to find from Mr. Google what Sheldonism is. Not sure I am any the wiser.
The cards are great too. The one with the deer is very complex.

  12. All your work is amazing! I esepcailly like the "deer" card!

Brotherhood Wishes, a Paper Purse, and a Special Mug

Hello friends. No more fun travel or parade pictures - back to every day normal life.  On a positive note, I have been able to fit in some art. Hereis an art journal spread I finished this weekend. I am adding it to Alison's Summer Landscape challenge theme at **Art*Journal*Journey* .   I started the pages in my journal around July 4th after seeing Dina's stripes inspired Mixed Media challenge on and got as far as stamping some foliage at the bottom.  I was stuck after that, and I wasn't sure where to go with it next.  A few days later, I was clearing out some things in the craft room and ran across a Thomas Kinkade book I cut up and use in my Bible Journaling.  There was a picture of  the San Francisco Bridge and another of some mountains so I tore them out and added them to my page with Gesso representing some of the beautiful things in America and also Alison's countryside theme.  They did not blend in very well and I needed to alter them to wo

My Favorite Parade

Hello Friends! Hope you had a good weekend.  I look forward to this weekend every year because I love the Fourth of July Parade in Prattville.  It makes me feel like things are right with the world - it is a bit old fashioned, a bit innocent, a bit quirky (actually a whole lot quirky), and a lot of fun.  Anyone can be in the parade as long as you remotely look patriotic.  My kids used to ride their bikes in the parade when they were younger. I thought I would share a few pictures. The mayor and City Council had one of the first floats (by the way all the floats and cars throw candy, necklaces, and toys so the people watching are all paying close attention so they can catch the good stuff). Notice how the floats are really just trailers with a few decorations. This was one of my favorites - it was the sanitation department and they had all their candy in a toilet on the top of the truck - lol!  I am pretty sure it was tootsie rolls - lol again! The local judge - isn't she pretty?

Hot Air Balloons, Santa Fe, and Watermelon

Hello friends. Posting Day Three from our New Mexico Trip.   When  I was 26, I was on a hot air baloon team.  Our lead pilot back then was awesome and was asked to do a lot of commercial flights and invitationals. My favorite experience was at an invitational in Telluride, Colorado.  Flying down the middle of that city was amazing, but flying around Albuquerque was always wonderful as well.  Anyway, I wanted my daughter to experience the special feeling of being in a hot air balloon in Albuquerque (the balloon capital of the world).  Her son was a bit afraid so he stayed with me. Allie was lucky to have the owner of Rainbow Ryders as her pilot and she met a wonderful woman who is an established travel blogger (I will try to get her contact info and share it because she was very interesting and I bet her blog is interesting too).  They hit it off really well, and she was so encouraging to Allie who wants to get into Social Media Marketing.  For the travel blog video they got to go insid
