Cozy Scottie Christmas - SOS514

 Hello Friends,

It has been a while since I posted.  We have been trying to do some remodeling and two of our Grandsons were heavy into wrestling tournaments which required traveling so we could support them.  Things have settled down a bit allowing me a little more free time.  I have been making lots of cards, I have just been posting them on Splitcoaststampers.com instead of on my blog. I miss all my blog friends though!

I was inspired today by the Shopping Our Stash challenge SOS514 - Winter Wonderland (winter landscape or white on white).  I have a city landscape and some white on white too.

I started by stamping the Rubbernecker Window and Bench image.  I watercolored it with Daniel Smith watercolors and added in a bunch of Snowtex.  I split the image up and popped it on an embossed white background.  When searching for a sentiment, I ran across my Scottie punch and thought it would add some whimsey.  Both the sentiment and the Scottie punch are from SU!

Hope you have all been doing well and staying cozy.

Hugz,

Nancy

  1. Good to see you back online Nancy. Sounds like life has been crazy, and I hope remodeling looks great. I love the colorful scene on your card. The scotty dog makes an adorable addition. It may be late, but happy 2024. hugs-Erika

Flowers, a Flag, and Some Wise Words

Hello Crafty Friends! I love Halle's theme at **Art*Journal*Journey* this month: Botanicals. So many possibilities... I combined the botanical theme with some of the colors in ARTNUDGE#725A and came up with this Bible Art Journal page focusing on 1 Timothy 2:1-2. I also made a patriotic prayer card too. In these verses, Paul tells Timothy (and all of us) to pray for everyone but he especially calls out prayer for kings and leaders. He indicates that this type of prayer could lead us to a tranquil and quite life in all godliness and dignity. I think we can all agree that the world needs much prayer right now and it is an easy step we can take.   I experimented on this journal page. I usually cover any bible journal pages with gesso before painting on them, but I have issues with the gesso gumming up my Micron pens or unevenly taking color. This time I used Daniel Smith Ground Medium in Titanium White (I mixed it with 10 parts water). I loved it and will be using it in the fut...

Wise Words for Life's Storms

My first post as a Guest Designer for Creative Worship Stamps. This watercolor and ink card features one of my favorite CWS sentiments - Big God . I am so grateful He is there in storms and this stamp beautifully underscores His power. The main panel of this card is watercolor paper and was painted with Daniel Smith Watercolors and Liquid Ink (the white highlights in the rain drops). The words were stamped with black ink from Close to My Heart. Hugz, Nancy
It's time for the New Release Blog Hop at Dude Time Doodles ! I am thrilled to show off Elmer Elf - just one of the four new images. I love them all and plan to make Christmas cards with every single one of them. Be sure and pick them up soon in the store if you like them because all the Dude Time Doodles Images will be retiring in the next few weeks - sniff, sniff! If you came to my blog from Sharon's amazing blog you can continue on to Mags who has another wonderful creation to show you. Dude Time Doodles blog hops are easy as you can hop on at any point and just continue around. Be sure and leave comments because one of the DT members is the mystery host/hostess and one of the commenters on their blog will win free images from the store. Hugz!!
