My first card is for this week's boytastic "Boys will be Boyz" challenge at The Octopode Factory Friday Challenge.
Any male related theme works for the challenge, but my only boy/male Octopode image is Captain Jack so I pulled him out again and made him the center of my card (literally). Some Le Petite pirate stickers from Hobby Lobby along with DWVC Far East paper helped with my Pirate-y theme. I colored my image with Copic markers from my limited and cherished collection, and I sponged the Spellbinders circle while it was still in the die with some SU! ink pads (Carribean Blue, Green Galore, and Chocolate Chip).
I think it came out cute, and my oldest daughter loved it. She didn't get the sentiment until I explained it means "understand?" - she didn't really like the movie but she thinks Johnny Depp is wonderful (who doesn't?).
My second card is for the Dilly Beans Designers & Friday Challenge Blog Challenge which involves Stars.
Aren't these little Dilly Beans Bunnies cute? I thought then needed something cute to behind them, so I used an Octopode fence and some Octopode stars for my background. The brown on the bg paper was distressed with the plastic wrap technique that Sue Worthington shared with me. She explained that you take some plastic wrap, make it look like a pom pom, dip it in some ink, and then touch it to the paper. I probably did it all wrong, but I like how it came out. This technique is from this week's Twisted Sister Challenge on Splitcoast Stampers.
I finished off my card with some ribbon, pearls, and a bunch of Stickles - probably a few more Stickles than I should have but I love the stuff!!!

ReplyDeleteOh, Captain Jack is very cool. Guess what I just made for my little grandson? A pirate chest filled with diamonds, gold, Thomas the Train, and other goodies. Yea, I know you wonder how train got in the mix with pirates. He is obsessed with him. LOL

Two brilliant cards, I like the captain Jack with that hat and sword, and yes the Dilly bunnies are sweet, it looks like they have borrowed under that fence, I like the colours.

ReplyDeleteJohnny Depp! He's my fave actor, and did a GREAT job with Captain Jack. I had my picture taken with that character in a wax museum in Washington D.C. Fun!
