Some Strawberries

Don't these strawberries look yummy? I love this Pattie's Creations Image - darn that Anne Temple for getting me addicted to yet another artist (by the way Patty is having a big sale starting tommorrow)! My card is going to last week's destination station at the Teapot Tuesday Challenge on SCS; a sweet little boy who is fighting some major challenges and loves strawberry milkshakes (I think I got that right). I know this card does not look the least bit like a card for a young man, but I am fixing that with goodies designed exactly for one like a potato gun and some plastic bugs. I am entering this card in the Perfect Sentiments Challenge because I just love the sentiment I typed and it is Anything Goes in that challenge (PSC47 - Anything Goes with a Sentiment).

Hope your day is filled with something wonderful - maybe even a strawberry milkshake.

  1. Gorgeous card Nancy, I like the image the colours and the sentiment.

  2. Terrific card. Yes those strawberries look delish. I love your highlight marks which makes them look so lifelike. I also like your punch and doily. Have a great day.

  3. Fantastic card and I love that sentiment and the way you highlighted specific words. I had to laugh while reading though because just as I was thinking how you must really like Pattie's images, I found out I'm to blame :0). I'm an excellent enabler. I think the little boy will love your card too!

  4. Nancy, how pretty you colored those strawberries. That is a great image and a perfect sentiment for this little boy. He is sure to love your card and those goodies.

  5. love your project thanks for joining our anything goes challenge at the perfect sentiment.

  6. That sentiment is too fun :) Lucky for me I'm not much into sweets so I'm quite safe LOL! Mind you I could eat that whole lot of strawberries in one sitting :)

  7. Such a great card (even though I must have some strawberries now!) - great colouring and I love the way you highlighted some of the words :)

  8. Oh this is gorgeous Nancy. You have coloured those strawberries to perfection, good enough to eat! Love the sentiment too. Michelle x

  9. This is so fabulous, I love strawberries!

  10. Such a cute card. I know that it will bring a smile to his face. Thanks for joining us at Perfect Sentiment. Hope to see you back again.

Forest Goodies and Other Projects

Hello Crafty Friends. I just got the Stamperia Forest Paper and Die Cuts in the mail so I had to play with them right away.   I have a combo creation - journal page and card.  On the journal page I used my 6x6 Dina Wakley Journal and laid a base of gesso.  I then used Dina's pastel crayons and some SU! inks and stamps.  Also added in some TH Dress Ink in Vintage Photo since I don't know how to make anything without it  (seriously).   The eagle is a Stamperia Forest die cut and is coated with gesso.  Did a bit of stenciling and distressing to finish the page off.  I am linking this the the **Art*Journal*Journey* September Texture Theme (last day - can't wait to see what October's Theme will be).  The die cut and the little smears add texture to the already very textured page.   I love the blue and green together and was inspired to made a quick card for my Son-in-law who cut down some tree limbs for us the other day.  The paper in the middle is from the Stamperia Forest

Brotherhood Wishes, a Paper Purse, and a Special Mug

Hello friends. No more fun travel or parade pictures - back to every day normal life.  On a positive note, I have been able to fit in some art. Hereis an art journal spread I finished this weekend. I am adding it to Alison's Summer Landscape challenge theme at **Art*Journal*Journey* .   I started the pages in my journal around July 4th after seeing Dina's stripes inspired Mixed Media challenge on and got as far as stamping some foliage at the bottom.  I was stuck after that, and I wasn't sure where to go with it next.  A few days later, I was clearing out some things in the craft room and ran across a Thomas Kinkade book I cut up and use in my Bible Journaling.  There was a picture of  the San Francisco Bridge and another of some mountains so I tore them out and added them to my page with Gesso representing some of the beautiful things in America and also Alison's countryside theme.  They did not blend in very well and I needed to alter them to wo

A Bit of Tea, Horses, and a Cowboy

I love when my children follow in my footsteps and beyond (only the cool footsteps, of course).   My daughter, Allie, has developed a love of tea.  She sent me this picture over the weekend of her having tea in her newly remodelled bedroom.   She was drinking Breakfast in Paris tea in one of her favorite thrift store mugs.  This is my ticket to the T-day gathering over at Elizabeth's blog .  To join us, all you have to do is have a drink related post (can be any type of drink).   The neighborhood horses have been gathering in our backyard for some reason. Our horse refuses to come up near our house because the lady who owns all these horses gives her much better treats.  They all jump the fences and visit everyone.  The mule in the picture is actually named after me because I named one of cows after the neighbor (he paid me back - lol). I gave them apples when they came on Sunday, and they have come back every day since - lol.  We had a bit of sadness yesterday when another neighb
