Today's post includes two cards and two drinks, all of which have been on my kitchen counter.
Feelng a bit lost in Wonderland lately - too much work at work and home. Thought this card would be appropriate to give myself.
The base layer is teabag glued to some heavyweight white card stock. I used gesso to add a few scraps of Alice paper from Stamperia (too hard to throw away any of it!), and then I added a thin layer of white gesso and some water colors. A run though the Big Shot with an embossing folder and some splatters of tea and paint added more interest. Making this base was a bit like a trip to Wonderland as it sort of made itself over a few days - lol.
I fussy cut the cat and sentiment out of the Alice papers and stapled on a border to complete the look. Isn't this cat the cutest?
Over at DRS Designs, I posted this card made from these stamps:
The base on the card is a watercolor wash and the tag is made from an Amazon box painted it up with some white gesso. No actual coloring done here. Watercolor washes and then stamping. Plus lots of fussy cutting and splattering. My grandon, Patton, says he wants a shark themed birthday so I was practicing his birthday card.
My daughter brought over some hard seltzer she likes. Isn't the can design cool?
I liked the seltzer, but wouldn't want to drink a lot of it. The 100 calories made it even better.
Then we sadly finished off hubby's expensive rare Crown Whiskey from the Waterloo Distillery.
I am sharing the box rather than the drink because the box is much cooler looking. I drank more of this one than he did - it is my favorite whiskey, but not something we can afford on a regular basis. Hubby kept the bottle for peppers and the bag (it was red) to sell at the gun show.
Hugz,
Nancy
Your cards are gorgeous. Wonderland would be a good place to be just now, as long as I don't have to go down the hole in our road! That cat is a WOW! And a shark themed card for a birthday, that#s little boys for you. I'm sure you'll all have one. Your drinks look good, I'm sure they were both very delicious! Cheers! Happy T day, stay safe, hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteTwo super cards Nancy, I love this Alice collection and have just managed to get another paper pad. The shark card is fabulous, a great design and fun sentiment.
ReplyDeleteThe design on the can is certainly striking and the Whisky box looks very impressive, I'm sure the contents were very enjoyable.

Nancy, gorgeous cards, love the cute kitten and the shark card is a great, love the corrugated card on it.
ReplyDeleteI’m not a lover of fizzy drinks although I like the odd G&T but I prefer it when the tonic is nearly flat. I don’t like whiskey but my sun bought my husband a whiskey with honey and herbs infused, more like a liqueur, I enjoyed that! My husband wished I didn’t like it.
Happy T day

Oh, I´d often be in wonderland then!
ReplyDeleteA teabag?! Cool.
I must admit... I never saw the movie.
Hmmm, cherries are always great! I did have rum, but whiskey I think not. But, my name being translated Emperor I might want a taste :-)
Btw - people are not rude here - they give these things - like super-mega-cool chairs - as presents away. Just today I found three DVDs on colors in the street!
If no rain we all do this :-)
I gave my husband a 6 month Scotch of the Month subscription for his birthday this year and he loved it. So we are well stocked at the moment.
ReplyDeleteOh my husband loves that XR and has tried all but one of the Crown collection. He rarely drinks and only wants the good stuff. LOL! I on the other hand can drink like a fish and have to make an effort not to. But I can't bring myself to enjoy the seltzers. I don't care for la Croix either... Anyway, so lovely to see your Alice inspired card with the cool stapled on border and the fish card is really amazing! I need to CASE it for my hubby's birthday! Thanks for the fun visit. xx, Autumn
ReplyDeleteI like your cards Nancy, and I totally understand wanting to use every scrap of that Stamperia paper. The shark card is cute and a fun birthday card. I do like a nice glass of whiskey too. Especially in winter. We have some Irish whiskey in the cabinet, not Jameson's but the name of it is right on the tip of my tongue. Your husband is a good man to let you finish his crown royal. Hope you're having a happy T day and have a nice week too Nancy. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteThat first card is so charming and definitely makes one feel relaxed. Great birthday card and so appropriate for this week in the US where programs are all about "Shark Week"!
ReplyDeleteI'm not so much for the whiskey though it is a special one I know, but the seltzer sounds quite refreshing. happy T day!
There is so much to be said about the Cheshire Cat!
ReplyDeletebest... mae at maefood.blogspot.com
Your cards just bring a smile. The cherry limeade hard seltzer sounds refreshing. Happy T Day
ReplyDeleteLoving those cards, they really made me smile 😁. The cherry limeade sounds very refreshing and the can design is awesome - Happy T Day! Hugs, Jo x
ReplyDeleteSo much texture on your teabag card and the Cheshire cat is certainly smirking :) Fun masculine birthday card with the shark and the corrugated card.
ReplyDeleteI'm a Scotch fan but sweeter not peaty, just a little treat now and again and always more fun sharing ♥
Beautiful cards. I love flavored seltzer but I have never heard of this.
ReplyDeleteHappy Tea Day,
Kate
I am in love with your Cheshire cat card. It is adorable. and I love how you embossed the background. Both cards are very clever, and you make them so well.
ReplyDeleteThat seltzer sounds wonderful. I love the look of that can. Your special Crown Royal must have been wonderful. I've heard the bags these come in are so supple, people like to keep their guns in them. Wise move to take it to the gun show.
Thanks for sharing your killer cards and your two drinks with us for T this Tuesday, dear Nancy.
I love cherry limeade at Sonic. :) I hope your husband is doing ok, Nancy. When my husband fell, I had to call 911, because he couldn't get up and I couldn't get him up. It was pretty scary because I didn't know what caused it. It turned out it was low blood pressure, and just getting up to quickly in the middle of the night, and half awake. Prayers. Sharon
ReplyDeleteNancy I hope that life and work has slowed down for you and you are having a good week. I love your cards and the one you are practicing on for your DGS is so cool. You know I love G&Ts and most wines LOL…not a whiskey drinker but DH is and has quite a collection that he keeps saying he must drink. I do like ports and muscat in winter and we have just polished off a bottle of muscat..yummy. I hope your DH is ok now. Hugs from Oz jx
ReplyDeleteFabulous cards! Cherry Limeade sounds refreshing! Not so keen on Whisky but it is avery nice box! Belated Happy T Day, Chrisx
ReplyDeleteThe eyes on that cat look so realistic, it's spooky! Love the masculine fishing card too, but that seltzer looks mighty refreshing! Years ago my favorite drink was a whiskey sour, on the very sour side. Been a while since I indulged though - now my pleasure is a tablespoon of Bailey's Irish Cream in my coffee LOL I can't handle the hard stuff anymore :)
