A CAS Christmas Card

Today starts the newest Can You Digi It? Challenge and it is "Clean and Simple."

I use to run when someone said CAS, but now I love it. It is a challenge for me though as I love me some layers and paper and embellishments. CAS is super easy when you have a great image and some awesome paper which I just happened to have.

I used one of the Christmas Ornaments out of the LilyPink Christmas Baubles set and layered it on top of some of my favorite Walk on the Wild Side Digi Paper from Green Goddess Creations. To make the circles pop a bit, I colored them with a light Copic Marker and then I covered the outline of one of the circles with some Zva Crystals out of the Crystal Wheel which is still unbelivably priced at $3.50 for a ton of crystals in various colors.

I still have a bunch of Christmas cards to finish up so I totally love this challenge! I need a few birthday cards as well so I may make this a CAS weekend coming up.

If you are celebrating Thanksgiving, I hope your plans are all falling into place and things are going well. I am so looking forward to some Fried Turkey!

Hugz!

  8. How cute this is. You know this is very popular here in SE GA and NE Fl due to the Jacksonville Jaguars. We love our animal print here. This is just so fun and fabulous. Let me take this opportunity before I get wrapped up in the Holiday festivites to wish you and your family a very Happy Thanksgiving. When I count my blessings I count our friendship as something to be so thankful for. Love you!

Language Plays, Billiard Balls, and Some "Interesting" Wine

I always look forward to the new **Art*Journal*Journey* Theme each month. The May theme was chosen by Elle and she chose Language as the theme. So many cool things you can do with that theme.  This weekend I chose to do the Language(s) of God in my Journaling Bible.  When I started, I was going to do Fasting as a way of speaking to God but after listening to a Sermon on Fasting, I realized that was more complicated and I would have to study it more first. So I switched gears midstream and just did some of ways that God speaks to us and vice versa.  There are many more, but I put the ones I could think of quickly here.   The papers are from an old hymnal and Close to My Heart (CTMH).  The gnome is CTMH as well.  Now I have played with all the gnomes in the set,and I totally love them. While looking for the hymnal paper, I ran across an old song book that I was saving.  It was damaged so I knew it would have to be recycled into something....

Some Penguins

Today kicks off the newest Pattie's Creations Challenge which is Tags . Just Tags. No cards with Tags on or in them - just tags. I love to make just tags so this one was right up my alley. I used the super cute Penguin image from Pattie's Creations, but I couldn't stop at just one so I made a little penguin family. My tag is made from an old cardboard box top which I peeled down, painted, distressed a bit, and then added some snow medium. My bow is actually a new bow designed by Pamela Lehto (available at Squigglefly tomorrow). Please join us in the Pattie's Creations Tag Challenge - there are lovely DT tags for inspiration and Pattie gives away wonderful prizes! Hugz!

Stamps, Books, Found Relatives, and More Food

Don't you love getting new stuff?  This is my fun new stuff from  Red Lead Paperworks .   I ordered the fun vintage looking deer stamp and the three Christmas greetings - all were on sale a few weeks ago.  I love getting their packages because they always send some extra little goodies like collage sheets and old tickets plus even their packaging is cute and reusable.  The sheet with the leaves and acorns on the bottom is the other side of the invoice so you can reuse it as well.  I can't wait to play with these fun goodies.  Here is a look at my current reading pile.  I checked Basil's War by Stephen Hunter from the library, my daughter lent me The Paper Palace, and I bought The Host, Going Back to Petrey, and The Lady in Blue from the Thrift Store. I am reading Basil's War and The Lady in Blue at the same time - something I really shouldn't do especially since both books are the kind that switch between stories every chapter.  Th...
