A Lure and Some Snow

At Dude Time Doodles, the challenge this week is Happy Holidays. This is a great challenge theme for me because I have a bunch more Christmas cards to make. The prize for this week's challenge is a $50 certificate to Its Cheaper than Therapy.com (OM - you have got to check this place out if you love die cuts and Sizzix - which I do).

I used Lure 2 on my card. This image is soooooo cool and it is only 49 cents. You can use it so many ways and it works great for a fisherman. I showed it to my Bunco group last night, and they all flipped over it! Can't you visualize how fun it would be with hearts on the little hook instead of snow for Valentines?

I am in a CAS mood lately (must be due to the fact that I still need a zillion Christmas cards. I am entering this card in the Addicted To CAS challenge #1 (ATCAS#1). If you don't know about this new challenge blog, you need to check it out. Their first challenge has the code word SNOW. The guest designers are some creative gals.

Make sure to join us in the Dude Time Doodles Challenge - here are some reasons you need to do it:

1) Everyone can use just one more Holiday Card or decoration!
2) The prize is really BIG! $50 is a big certificate and Its Cheaper than Therapy.com is a great store.
3) There are only a few more Dude Time Doodles Challenges and then they will go away! (If you have doing the challenge on your bucket list you won't ever be able to mark it off.)
4) The Dude and Dudettes leave some of the best gallery love out there!
5) You can use any image as long as your creation fits in the Holidays Theme.
6) If you want to use a Dude Time Doodles Image - there are some in the store as little as 49 cents (like the one I used) and the store has a ton of Christmas images (just look at some of the cool creations the DT used for this challenge).

And Lastly, if you enter the challenge and you leave me a note here that you entered the challenge (even the Dude Time Doodles DT can enter), I will put you in my own drawing for a prize. The prize will be a hand tied fishing lure made by one of the men in my family. I will get it to you before Christmas so you can give it to a fisherman on your Christmas list OR you could use it on a card like I have been known to do - LOL!

Hugz to all!

Language Plays, Billiard Balls, and Some "Interesting" Wine

I always look forward to the new **Art*Journal*Journey* Theme each month. The May theme was chosen by Elle and she chose Language as the theme. So many cool things you can do with that theme.  This weekend I chose to do the Language(s) of God in my Journaling Bible.  When I started, I was going to do Fasting as a way of speaking to God but after listening to a Sermon on Fasting, I realized that was more complicated and I would have to study it more first. So I switched gears midstream and just did some of ways that God speaks to us and vice versa.  There are many more, but I put the ones I could think of quickly here.   The papers are from an old hymnal and Close to My Heart (CTMH).  The gnome is CTMH as well.  Now I have played with all the gnomes in the set,and I totally love them. While looking for the hymnal paper, I ran across an old song book that I was saving.  It was damaged so I knew it would have to be recycled into something....

Some Penguins

Today kicks off the newest Pattie's Creations Challenge which is Tags . Just Tags. No cards with Tags on or in them - just tags. I love to make just tags so this one was right up my alley. I used the super cute Penguin image from Pattie's Creations, but I couldn't stop at just one so I made a little penguin family. My tag is made from an old cardboard box top which I peeled down, painted, distressed a bit, and then added some snow medium. My bow is actually a new bow designed by Pamela Lehto (available at Squigglefly tomorrow). Please join us in the Pattie's Creations Tag Challenge - there are lovely DT tags for inspiration and Pattie gives away wonderful prizes! Hugz!

Stamps, Books, Found Relatives, and More Food

Don't you love getting new stuff?  This is my fun new stuff from  Red Lead Paperworks .   I ordered the fun vintage looking deer stamp and the three Christmas greetings - all were on sale a few weeks ago.  I love getting their packages because they always send some extra little goodies like collage sheets and old tickets plus even their packaging is cute and reusable.  The sheet with the leaves and acorns on the bottom is the other side of the invoice so you can reuse it as well.  I can't wait to play with these fun goodies.  Here is a look at my current reading pile.  I checked Basil's War by Stephen Hunter from the library, my daughter lent me The Paper Palace, and I bought The Host, Going Back to Petrey, and The Lady in Blue from the Thrift Store. I am reading Basil's War and The Lady in Blue at the same time - something I really shouldn't do especially since both books are the kind that switch between stories every chapter.  Th...
