One More Christmas Card Down

So grateful to have an extra day off - I so needed this day! Between the Wedding a few weeks ago, Allie's Graduation, and a new job at work - I have been running! Now things are settling down and I am feeling a bit better (mentally and physically).

So now that I have a bit more free time, I asked Pattie's Creations to consider letting me on their DT when they had a DT Call recently. They graciously let me join them. I love Pattie's images - they are so clean and they work for so many ocassions. My DT term doesn't start until June, but I couldn't resist playing in the current challenge which is Red, White and Blue (PCC#68) - you have to have these three colors on your card but you can use other colors as well. I need to get on the ball with my Christmas cards so I thought I would use this lovely Cardinal on Branch with Snow image.

I used the sketch from the Merry Monday challenge (MMC#64)- I have decided to play in this challenge each week until Christmas so I have something to motivate me to get more Christmas cards done before December. This week's sketch is wonderful!

Hugz to all!

Glad things are getting back to normal for you. It's so hard when all these extra "things" get int he way of our normal life, but I guess they are life, huh? Enjoy this week and congrats on your DT post.

  20. You and Benzi are making me so jealous getting some Christmas cards knock out so early in the year. I have to squeeze in a couple next month for sure. This is just darling. I love the cardinal and am always looking for a different one each year to make and send to my Brother-in-law and his family. He's a "Cardnials" fan (St. Louis that is)lol. Love the glittered paper you used. It adds the perfect festive touch.

Some Penguins

Today kicks off the newest Pattie's Creations Challenge which is Tags . Just Tags. No cards with Tags on or in them - just tags. I love to make just tags so this one was right up my alley. I used the super cute Penguin image from Pattie's Creations, but I couldn't stop at just one so I made a little penguin family. My tag is made from an old cardboard box top which I peeled down, painted, distressed a bit, and then added some snow medium. My bow is actually a new bow designed by Pamela Lehto (available at Squigglefly tomorrow). Please join us in the Pattie's Creations Tag Challenge - there are lovely DT tags for inspiration and Pattie gives away wonderful prizes! Hugz!

Language Plays, Billiard Balls, and Some "Interesting" Wine

I always look forward to the new **Art*Journal*Journey* Theme each month. The May theme was chosen by Elle and she chose Language as the theme. So many cool things you can do with that theme.  This weekend I chose to do the Language(s) of God in my Journaling Bible.  When I started, I was going to do Fasting as a way of speaking to God but after listening to a Sermon on Fasting, I realized that was more complicated and I would have to study it more first. So I switched gears midstream and just did some of ways that God speaks to us and vice versa.  There are many more, but I put the ones I could think of quickly here.   The papers are from an old hymnal and Close to My Heart (CTMH).  The gnome is CTMH as well.  Now I have played with all the gnomes in the set,and I totally love them. While looking for the hymnal paper, I ran across an old song book that I was saving.  It was damaged so I knew it would have to be recycled into something....

Two Cards and Two Drinks

Today's post includes two cards and two drinks, all of which have been on my kitchen counter. Feelng a bit lost in Wonderland lately - too much work at work and home.  Thought this card would be appropriate to give myself.   The base layer is teabag glued to some heavyweight white card stock.  I used gesso to add a few scraps of Alice paper from Stamperia (too hard to throw away any of it!), and then I added a thin layer of white gesso and some water colors.  A run though the Big Shot with an embossing folder and some splatters of tea and paint added more interest.  Making this base was a bit like a trip to Wonderland as it sort of made itself over a few days - lol. I fussy cut the cat and sentiment out of the Alice papers and stapled on a border to complete the look.  Isn't this cat the cutest? Over at DRS Designs, I posted this card made from these stamps: Happy Shark Killer Birthday Fishing Square The base on the card is a watercolor wash and the ta...
