Surf Board Inspired Card

It is that time of the week when we are inspired by the incredibly fun pictures Shirley finds us for the MFPSpeedy TV Inspiration Challenge. Here are the latest treasures she has found for challenge #51 - Surf Boards:

These are some awfully fun and very inspiring pictures. I was inspired by the first surfboard and here is my creation:

I used the MFP Medallion Set which is one of very favorite sets with the very cool image you can layer and the fun sentiments. Inside my card I used the Hugs sentiment from the set but it also has some other very positive sayings such as "Love ya,"I am here for you," and "Think Happy Thoughts." The papers I used on the Medallion were Real Red and Summer Sun from SU! but they didn't match my Basic Grey dp very well so I toned them down with some Tim Holtz Tea Dye ink and a sponge. I added a gem in the middle, some Red Stickles, and some fun arrow gems from Close to My Heart.

Hope you are inspired by these pictures and come join us. You don't have to use an MFP image to play and the prize is a very pretty MFP daisy stamp from the Oopsy Daisy set. If you come play and mention in your post you were encouraged to play by me, I will put you in a drawing for an extra prize as well.

Hugz!

  11. Just beautiful. I love how rich the color tones are in the flower. The little arrows are just enough bling for some pizzazz and leave the focal point as the flower. This is fantastic!

Flowers, a Flag, and Some Wise Words

Hello Crafty Friends! I love Halle's theme at **Art*Journal*Journey* this month: Botanicals. So many possibilities... I combined the botanical theme with some of the colors in ARTNUDGE#725A and came up with this Bible Art Journal page focusing on 1 Timothy 2:1-2. I also made a patriotic prayer card too. In these verses, Paul tells Timothy (and all of us) to pray for everyone but he especially calls out prayer for kings and leaders. He indicates that this type of prayer could lead us to a tranquil and quite life in all godliness and dignity. I think we can all agree that the world needs much prayer right now and it is an easy step we can take.   I experimented on this journal page. I usually cover any bible journal pages with gesso before painting on them, but I have issues with the gesso gumming up my Micron pens or unevenly taking color. This time I used Daniel Smith Ground Medium in Titanium White (I mixed it with 10 parts water). I loved it and will be using it in the fut...

Stamps, Books, Found Relatives, and More Food

Don't you love getting new stuff?  This is my fun new stuff from  Red Lead Paperworks .   I ordered the fun vintage looking deer stamp and the three Christmas greetings - all were on sale a few weeks ago.  I love getting their packages because they always send some extra little goodies like collage sheets and old tickets plus even their packaging is cute and reusable.  The sheet with the leaves and acorns on the bottom is the other side of the invoice so you can reuse it as well.  I can't wait to play with these fun goodies.  Here is a look at my current reading pile.  I checked Basil's War by Stephen Hunter from the library, my daughter lent me The Paper Palace, and I bought The Host, Going Back to Petrey, and The Lady in Blue from the Thrift Store. I am reading Basil's War and The Lady in Blue at the same time - something I really shouldn't do especially since both books are the kind that switch between stories every chapter.  Th...

Language Plays, Billiard Balls, and Some "Interesting" Wine

I always look forward to the new **Art*Journal*Journey* Theme each month. The May theme was chosen by Elle and she chose Language as the theme. So many cool things you can do with that theme.  This weekend I chose to do the Language(s) of God in my Journaling Bible.  When I started, I was going to do Fasting as a way of speaking to God but after listening to a Sermon on Fasting, I realized that was more complicated and I would have to study it more first. So I switched gears midstream and just did some of ways that God speaks to us and vice versa.  There are many more, but I put the ones I could think of quickly here.   The papers are from an old hymnal and Close to My Heart (CTMH).  The gnome is CTMH as well.  Now I have played with all the gnomes in the set,and I totally love them. While looking for the hymnal paper, I ran across an old song book that I was saving.  It was damaged so I knew it would have to be recycled into something....
