Mother Day Wishes

My laptop computer is still in the shop - I promise I am going to catch up with everyone as soon as I get it back. I feel like a fish out of water - seriously!!!

This week's Squigglefly challenge is all about Mother's Day. Once again I used Blow Me A Kiss by Lynn Stansbery - one of my favorite Squigglefly images.

I was going with a lot of texture on this card and I was also trying to experiment with cardboard. One of my panels and all my flowers were made with left-over pieces of cardboard. I am trying to come up with some ideas to share at work with how to engineer some thank you cards and other items with things at hand. I hand cut them and I think they came out nicely. I know my Mother will love this - she loves this image and loves anything made with recycled items.

Make a Mother's Day card and join us at Squigglefly!

Forest Goodies and Other Projects

Hello Crafty Friends. I just got the Stamperia Forest Paper and Die Cuts in the mail so I had to play with them right away.   I have a combo creation - journal page and card.  On the journal page I used my 6x6 Dina Wakley Journal and laid a base of gesso.  I then used Dina's pastel crayons and some SU! inks and stamps.  Also added in some TH Dress Ink in Vintage Photo since I don't know how to make anything without it  (seriously).   The eagle is a Stamperia Forest die cut and is coated with gesso.  Did a bit of stenciling and distressing to finish the page off.  I am linking this the the **Art*Journal*Journey* September Texture Theme (last day - can't wait to see what October's Theme will be).  The die cut and the little smears add texture to the already very textured page.   I love the blue and green together and was inspired to made a quick card for my Son-in-law who cut down some tree limbs for us the other day....

Some Penguins

Today kicks off the newest Pattie's Creations Challenge which is Tags . Just Tags. No cards with Tags on or in them - just tags. I love to make just tags so this one was right up my alley. I used the super cute Penguin image from Pattie's Creations, but I couldn't stop at just one so I made a little penguin family. My tag is made from an old cardboard box top which I peeled down, painted, distressed a bit, and then added some snow medium. My bow is actually a new bow designed by Pamela Lehto (available at Squigglefly tomorrow). Please join us in the Pattie's Creations Tag Challenge - there are lovely DT tags for inspiration and Pattie gives away wonderful prizes! Hugz!

Bear-ied In Paperwork

Back again, with a card for this week's House Mouse & Friends Monday Challenge ( HMFMC#424 ).  This week the challenge is Anything goes with the option of scraps of paper. I took the option literally and added scraps of paper on my kitchen counter.  I needed a thank you card for someone who has been helping us organize A LOT of papers.   I stamped the image (House Mouse Gruffies Bear-ied in Paperwork -2007) using CTMH Black, then coloring the image with Daniel Smith Watercolors.  I drew in an extra paper or two so that I could make one of them a Thank You paper - it is the top right and shaded pink.  Thanks for visiting, Nancy
