A Gem-filled Heart, Some Flowers, A Haunted Train, and Carrot Cake Cupcakes

Hope your weekend was relaxing and fun. With the extra time off, I was able to get a few extra cards made so I had a great weekend!

The Haunted Design House challenge this time is inspired by some ethereal photos and they inspired me to make this card:

The Inspiration Challenge at SCS was a Pinterest board and it was full of fun button creations. I made two cards based on THIS and THIS picture:

The Featured Stamper at SCS is nancyt and she has a darling gallery. I made two cards for that challenge as well based on THIS card and THIS card:

  5. Nancy, I want to thank you again for all the nice comments on my blog. You asked me about the 3d images...
The images that I made the cards that I just posted probably aren't available anymore they were from a long time ago (as I have said before and it's true...I'm a slow card maker) Recently, at Split Coast stampers I saw that Penny W had posted some comments and I sent her an Instant message...she thanked me for posting the link to her photobucket...she still has some great 3d sheets there on photogucket and they are free to use. There isn't too many people that have them out free
anymore...most of them must be purchased. Paper wishes does have some nice sheets that you can purchase. That's usually where I purchase mine. Penny's link to her 3d sheets at Phototbucket can be found here... http://s27.photobucket.com/user/d0npen/library/3d%20Sheets%20only?sort=6&page=1

  11. You. Are. On. Fire!

I was oohing and aaahing over every one of these. The first one looks so ghostly with all the white and black, the touch of cheesecloth. And those buttons/gems in the shape of a heart for a sympathy card - mamma mia! Love the crinkled seam binding and pearls and old button card on another. Fabulous job on each one, Nancy! Hugz!!

Language Plays, Billiard Balls, and Some "Interesting" Wine

I always look forward to the new **Art*Journal*Journey* Theme each month. The May theme was chosen by Elle and she chose Language as the theme. So many cool things you can do with that theme.  This weekend I chose to do the Language(s) of God in my Journaling Bible.  When I started, I was going to do Fasting as a way of speaking to God but after listening to a Sermon on Fasting, I realized that was more complicated and I would have to study it more first. So I switched gears midstream and just did some of ways that God speaks to us and vice versa.  There are many more, but I put the ones I could think of quickly here.   The papers are from an old hymnal and Close to My Heart (CTMH).  The gnome is CTMH as well.  Now I have played with all the gnomes in the set,and I totally love them. While looking for the hymnal paper, I ran across an old song book that I was saving.  It was damaged so I knew it would have to be recycled into something....

Some Penguins

Today kicks off the newest Pattie's Creations Challenge which is Tags . Just Tags. No cards with Tags on or in them - just tags. I love to make just tags so this one was right up my alley. I used the super cute Penguin image from Pattie's Creations, but I couldn't stop at just one so I made a little penguin family. My tag is made from an old cardboard box top which I peeled down, painted, distressed a bit, and then added some snow medium. My bow is actually a new bow designed by Pamela Lehto (available at Squigglefly tomorrow). Please join us in the Pattie's Creations Tag Challenge - there are lovely DT tags for inspiration and Pattie gives away wonderful prizes! Hugz!

Stamps, Books, Found Relatives, and More Food

Don't you love getting new stuff?  This is my fun new stuff from  Red Lead Paperworks .   I ordered the fun vintage looking deer stamp and the three Christmas greetings - all were on sale a few weeks ago.  I love getting their packages because they always send some extra little goodies like collage sheets and old tickets plus even their packaging is cute and reusable.  The sheet with the leaves and acorns on the bottom is the other side of the invoice so you can reuse it as well.  I can't wait to play with these fun goodies.  Here is a look at my current reading pile.  I checked Basil's War by Stephen Hunter from the library, my daughter lent me The Paper Palace, and I bought The Host, Going Back to Petrey, and The Lady in Blue from the Thrift Store. I am reading Basil's War and The Lady in Blue at the same time - something I really shouldn't do especially since both books are the kind that switch between stories every chapter.  Th...
