Luau Take Out

This week's MFPSpeedyTV Inspiration Challenge (#72)is Food for the Luau - yum, yum!

I went with the colors and shapes in picture #1 and #2:

I used the new MFP set called Chinese Take Out and my sentiment is from the MFP Glad Glads set. I see all kinds of cards in my future with this Chinese take out set - I love those fortune cookies and the box and sticks are so fun!

There are all kinds of possibilities with these challenge pictures - cards with toothpicks (drop by and see Shirley's toothpick card), fruit, colors, shapes, watermelon inspired cards - I could make another 20 cards! Come join us.

Hugz!

  1. This card is delish! I still have a snippit of that background paper hidden in my stash somewhere. It just looks like "happy" paper to me. Fun card, Nancy, have a fun day.

  2. Oh so bright and happy.

Thanks for asking, we are well and like the efficiency of Singapore.
We almost found an apartment but the landlord gave it to some one else at a better price. So we have started to look for another one now. Bit disappointing but am sure when one door closes a better one opens.

    Take care and keep crafting,

    M

Language Plays, Billiard Balls, and Some "Interesting" Wine

I always look forward to the new **Art*Journal*Journey* Theme each month. The May theme was chosen by Elle and she chose Language as the theme. So many cool things you can do with that theme.  This weekend I chose to do the Language(s) of God in my Journaling Bible.  When I started, I was going to do Fasting as a way of speaking to God but after listening to a Sermon on Fasting, I realized that was more complicated and I would have to study it more first. So I switched gears midstream and just did some of ways that God speaks to us and vice versa.  There are many more, but I put the ones I could think of quickly here.   The papers are from an old hymnal and Close to My Heart (CTMH).  The gnome is CTMH as well.  Now I have played with all the gnomes in the set,and I totally love them. While looking for the hymnal paper, I ran across an old song book that I was saving.  It was damaged so I knew it would have to be recycled into something....

Some Penguins

Today kicks off the newest Pattie's Creations Challenge which is Tags . Just Tags. No cards with Tags on or in them - just tags. I love to make just tags so this one was right up my alley. I used the super cute Penguin image from Pattie's Creations, but I couldn't stop at just one so I made a little penguin family. My tag is made from an old cardboard box top which I peeled down, painted, distressed a bit, and then added some snow medium. My bow is actually a new bow designed by Pamela Lehto (available at Squigglefly tomorrow). Please join us in the Pattie's Creations Tag Challenge - there are lovely DT tags for inspiration and Pattie gives away wonderful prizes! Hugz!

Stamps, Books, Found Relatives, and More Food

Don't you love getting new stuff?  This is my fun new stuff from  Red Lead Paperworks .   I ordered the fun vintage looking deer stamp and the three Christmas greetings - all were on sale a few weeks ago.  I love getting their packages because they always send some extra little goodies like collage sheets and old tickets plus even their packaging is cute and reusable.  The sheet with the leaves and acorns on the bottom is the other side of the invoice so you can reuse it as well.  I can't wait to play with these fun goodies.  Here is a look at my current reading pile.  I checked Basil's War by Stephen Hunter from the library, my daughter lent me The Paper Palace, and I bought The Host, Going Back to Petrey, and The Lady in Blue from the Thrift Store. I am reading Basil's War and The Lady in Blue at the same time - something I really shouldn't do especially since both books are the kind that switch between stories every chapter.  Th...
