Some Cards Made in the Last Few Weeks


This one was made with Sandra Caldwell's Santa and His Birdie image (if you like it, you better get to Squigglefly this week before they close down and get it). I colored him with watercolor pencils.


Done for the Inspiration Challenge on Splitcoast Stampers this weekend. The Inspiration site was the blog: From the Tool Shed. I watercolored my dogwood with diluted Brushos (my new favorite medium).


Another card inspired by From the Tool Shed and using Brushos (undiluted). Fun to make!


I used an ODBD sentiment and some little things from my stash (including the bg paper). This was for last week's color challenge at SCS. The new one is announced tonight and it will be my last time as a guest designer (sniff, sniff).


For last week's technique challenge at SCS. Vicki from Stamp Smiles inspired me to use an old SU! set (Natural Beauty). I had fun with this one as my daughter Crystal helped me.


Done for the Queen for the Day Challenge - casing Kiagc (Kia) - one of my favorite stampers.

I know I have been neglecting my blog and my blog friends - I am going to catch up with everyone this week! Hugz - lots of them!

    Wow, a fantastic array of cards here. Each one is a beauty and I love the different mediums you went with. I've always adored the triple stamping technique, thanks for doing one, bringing it forefront in my mind. Have a good week. We are in the path of the Blizzard so I may be MIA for a while if we lose power.

    A wonderful selection of cards Nancy, so many different designs and techniques - they are all fabulous but I especially like the last one with the lovely fresh greens and brilliant design.

    Nancy, ALL of these are simply outstanding! The Brusho really have a vibrant look to them. Love that blue Santa! Too cute. Too hard to pick a favorite since they're all beautiful.

    Oh Nancy, What gorgeous creations!!!! You are over the top talented! The blue snowman makes me giggle, but isn't that the truth! Beautiful wall! Oh my! I keep hearing about brushos but didn't want to get into another medium but wow, this is stunning, you are making me reconsider my position!!! I love the anchor with that beautiful sentiment and background. Gorgeous! Triple the beauty with the layering and butterflies!     Oh I did enjoy a wander through all these wonderful cards. #1 made me smile...so very apt. Of course I was fascinated with the beautiful works you've achieved with the brusho-s. Are you 'painting' with the product? That pretty flower doesn't look like the effect I see when 'sprinkling'. Interested to read that you diluted, so wondered if you sprinkled some crystals in a palette, then diluted. Lovely soft color. Loved the brilliance of purple tones...not sure if it's over stenciling or drywall tape. Looks very dimensional. The soft wash of the ODBD blue sky with the delicate doily lace and the interesting 'treasures' is just too lovely for words. And of course I loved all of them immensely! Thanks for a wonderful stroll among some beautiful cards! Hugs & TFS

Some Penguins

Today kicks off the newest Pattie's Creations Challenge which is Tags . Just Tags. No cards with Tags on or in them - just tags. I love to make just tags so this one was right up my alley. I used the super cute Penguin image from Pattie's Creations, but I couldn't stop at just one so I made a little penguin family. My tag is made from an old cardboard box top which I peeled down, painted, distressed a bit, and then added some snow medium. Language Plays, Billiard Balls, and Some "Interesting" Wine

 I always look forward to the new **Art*Journal*Journey* Theme each month. The May theme was chosen by Elle and she chose Language as the theme. So many cool things you can do with that theme.  This weekend I chose to do the Language(s) of God in my Journaling Bible.  When I started, I was going to do Fasting as a way of speaking to God but after listening to a Sermon on Fasting, I realized that was more complicated and I would have to study it more first. So I switched gears midstream and just did some of ways that God speaks to us and vice versa.  There are many more, but I put the ones I could think of quickly here.   The papers are from an old hymnal and Close to My Heart (CTMH).  The gnome is CTMH as well.  Now I have played with all the gnomes in the set,and I totally love them. While looking for the hymnal paper, I ran across an old song book that I was saving.  It was damaged so I knew it would have to be recycled into something....

A Covered Bridge, a Shotgun Wedding, Patton Wisdom, and Some Art

 On our recent vaction, hubby and I got back to our historical marker seeking.  This time we visited the Clarkson Covered Bridge. It is super long and very cool.  We also found a website HERE that has a mapped out tour of Alabama where you can visit 7 in one day - a fun trip for a Fall weekend.  This is the only picture I took of the bridge. The day before, we visited the Patton Musuem at Ft. Knox, Kentucky and viewed Ft. Knox from as close as they will let you get. They say there is still a ton of gold in Ft. Knox - trillions of dollars worth.  We liked the Patton Museum.  I don't agree with most of Patton's management style, but do respect that he accomplished much.  I was impressed with some of his leadership statements like this one which I totally agree with: They have some fabulous items at the museum - hubby could have looked for hours and hours if I had let him.
