GDP192 - Case the Designer!

My baby, Alex, turned 24 today.  Later today we are having a birthday celebration with a cookie cake and her favorite thing to eat - Poppyseed Chicken.  I realized this morning that I had not yet made a card, so I made one up really fast using the GDP192 Case the Designer Challenge as my inspiration.  This pretty card by Charlet Mallett was the perfect thing to get me started.
I had limited time this morning before work plus I had to cook the chicken for the poppyseed chicken tonight as well.
No time to color so I slapped down some aluminum foil and swiped my yellow, pink, and green inks on it.  Next, I splashed on some water with my fingers and dipped my paper into the inks.  I dried the paper with a heat gun and stamped the flowers from SU! Tea Together.  Next, I stamped the teacup, fussy cut it, and then sponged around it with some brown (this is my vintage daughter).  I cut out the flowers and arranged them on the teacup. 

The card was looking plain so I painted on some pink stripes using the leftover ink on my aluminum foil.  Allie loves bling so I added some silver glitter glitter to the flowers and the bottom of the cup.  I also added a few butterflies from the SU! Enjoy Life set to fill in my blank pink banner.

The sentiment is from SU! Tasty Trucks.  I cut a few little triangles from my inked up paper and made a banner to go under the sentiment. 

Should be a fun night!  I bought Allie part of an old rural post office.  It is the part of the post office that has the slots where they placed the mail and it still has some of the names visible. To make it even better, it is a town she loves.  She is so excited!

    You must have been very busy on your daughter's birthday to finish this pretty card, plan a meal and get her a great gift she'll love! I'm sure you both had a great celebration!

    You surely had a busy morning and a very talented one at that. What you have turned out is a super work of shabby chic. I love the flowers and the teacup. The background looks awesome and so does all the sponging. JUST TOO GOOD. Lucky Alex and happy birthday to her.

Today kicks off the newest Pattie's Creations Challenge which is Tags . Just Tags. No cards with Tags on or in them - just tags. I love to make just tags so this one was right up my alley. A Bit of Tea, Horses, and a Cowboy

 I love when my children follow in my footsteps and beyond (only the cool footsteps, of course).   My daughter, Allie, has developed a love of tea.  She sent me this picture over the weekend of her having tea in her newly remodelled bedroom.   She was drinking Breakfast in Paris tea in one of her favorite thrift store mugs.  This is my ticket to the T-day gathering over at Elizabeth's blog .  To join us, all you have to do is have a drink related post (can be any type of drink).   The neighborhood horses have been gathering in our backyard for some reason. Our horse refuses to come up near our house because the lady who owns all these horses gives her much better treats.  They all jump the fences and visit everyone.  The mule in the picture is actually named after me because I named one of cows after the neighbor (he paid me back - lol). I gave them apples when they came on Sunday, and they have come back every day since - lol....

Forest Goodies and Other Projects

 Hello Crafty Friends. I just got the Stamperia Forest Paper and Die Cuts in the mail so I had to play with them right away.   I have a combo creation - journal page and card.  On the journal page I used my 6x6 Dina Wakley Journal and laid a base of gesso.  I then used Dina's pastel crayons and some SU! inks and stamps.  Also added in some TH Dress Ink in Vintage Photo since I don't know how to make anything without it  (seriously).   The eagle is a Stamperia Forest die cut and is coated with gesso.  Did a bit of stenciling and distressing to finish the page off.  I am linking this the the **Art*Journal*Journey* September Texture Theme (last day - can't wait to see what October's Theme will be).  The die cut and the little smears add texture to the already very textured page.   I love the blue and green together and was inspired to made a quick card for my Son-in-law who cut down some tree limbs for us the other day....
