A Cat in the Flowers

Hope you all are having a good week!

I had some MOJO issues in my BAJ lately, so I took some inspiration from the **ART*JOURNAL*JOURNEY* flower theme picked by Mia and the Splitcoaststampers.com Tea Party theme (do a card with cats or dogs or spelling out one of them with your items).  The card is going to the daughter of one of the participants who has been facing some big set backs in health and wealth but staying very positive.  The BAJ page is for all of us as we are remarkably and wondrously made as is written in Psalm 139:14.  I think within the next month, I will have Psalms done.
I drew the flowers, painted them with watercolors, stamped the cat, and distressed the edges.  I added a bit of doodling to tie the flowers in together more.

I also have this card to share with new images from DRS Designs - the porthole and the 3 in 1 ocean floor images combined with the Go with the Flow Greeting.  The images will be hitting the store this week.
I also wanted to share the handmade mini-photo album I made for my daughter for Mothers Day.  I made each of them one but neglected to take pictures of one of them.
Here it is inside:
I made both of them quickly Saturday morning and I used THESE free printables from Lia Griffith.  The album design was taken from Artsy Albums and the tutorial can be found HERE.  I filled hem with pictures of them and their kids plus one of my mother (on the left side tag) and me (hiding under my Mom).  I used scraps laying around and didn't worry about matching too much as I was in a big hurry to get them done.  They loved them so mission accomplished.

Hugz!!!

  11. I think mojo is being a bit slippery with many of us at the moment - in and out of action all the time for me, certainly. But it's lovely to see you found floral inspiration... your flowers are absolutely gorgeous. The polka dotted black shadows in between really make them pop too, and of course the card looks lovely too. Happy to see that happy fish again, and what wonderful albums to celebrate mother/daughter day!!

Flowers, a Flag, and Some Wise Words

Hello Crafty Friends! I love Halle's theme at **Art*Journal*Journey* this month: Botanicals. So many possibilities... I combined the botanical theme with some of the colors in ARTNUDGE#725A and came up with this Bible Art Journal page focusing on 1 Timothy 2:1-2. I also made a patriotic prayer card too. In these verses, Paul tells Timothy (and all of us) to pray for everyone but he especially calls out prayer for kings and leaders. He indicates that this type of prayer could lead us to a tranquil and quite life in all godliness and dignity. I think we can all agree that the world needs much prayer right now and it is an easy step we can take.   I experimented on this journal page. I usually cover any bible journal pages with gesso before painting on them, but I have issues with the gesso gumming up my Micron pens or unevenly taking color. This time I used Daniel Smith Ground Medium in Titanium White (I mixed it with 10 parts water). I loved it and will be using it in the fut...

Wise Words for Life's Storms

My first post as a Guest Designer for Creative Worship Stamps. This watercolor and ink card features one of my favorite CWS sentiments - Big God . I am so grateful He is there in storms and this stamp beautifully underscores His power. The main panel of this card is watercolor paper and was painted with Daniel Smith Watercolors and Liquid Ink (the white highlights in the rain drops). The words were stamped with black ink from Close to My Heart. Hugz, Nancy
It's time for the New Release Blog Hop at Dude Time Doodles ! I am thrilled to show off Elmer Elf - just one of the four new images. I love them all and plan to make Christmas cards with every single one of them. Be sure and pick them up soon in the store if you like them because all the Dude Time Doodles Images will be retiring in the next few weeks - sniff, sniff! If you came to my blog from Sharon's amazing blog you can continue on to Mags who has another wonderful creation to show you. Dude Time Doodles blog hops are easy as you can hop on at any point and just continue around. Be sure and leave comments because one of the DT members is the mystery host/hostess and one of the commenters on their blog will win free images from the store. Hugz!!
