Catch UP Post

I haven't posted in a while but I have been busy here in rural Alabama trying to avoid cabin fever and Corona!

Try it on Tuesday last time was fun with stencils and this time is one color mixed with Black and White - I have both on my two cards.  I love stencils  and I love Vintage photo ink!!!!

Here is one made by inking up my stencil with Vintage Photo Ink, spritzing with water and then slapping it down on the page:
The short little man is from Squirrel and Frog, the leaves are SU!, and the sentiment is REDlead.

Did another with him popped up an the leaves sponged.

I did this one over the weekend but it has stencils too- but a few too many colors.  I used my favorite chicken wire stencil:
Made the clay sculpture following THIS video (love that music on the video and this girl is talented). My octopus is not as cool as hers, but I tried! Painted with gold mica powder.  The shells are DRS Designs.  Did a kind of matching BAJ page:
Another Psalm.  I used my chicken wire stencil but used it on top of another layer so it isn't as noticeable and also used a die cut mesh as a stencil.

Didn't use a stencil on this one and have a bunch of colors, but did use some fun tissue paper I received last week:
Slapped on a Tim Holtz doll and a SU! Sentiment and had a great Birthday card.  Psalms
67 - wishes for blessings - something we all need!  Donuts seemed to fit with a plea for blessings.

One last combo using the same raindrop stencil as my other projects plus a sweet new Art Deco Sympathy sentiment from DRS Designs (cattails and seagrass also from DRS Designs).  Almost could qualify as one extra color but has peach and brown.
A tribute to my sweet Mother as we approach Mother's Day in the U.S. and I miss her like crazy!

Thanks for coming by.  I so appreciate it.  Many hugz! Stay safe.

Nancy

Language Plays, Billiard Balls, and Some "Interesting" Wine

I always look forward to the new **Art*Journal*Journey* Theme each month. The May theme was chosen by Elle and she chose Language as the theme. So many cool things you can do with that theme.  This weekend I chose to do the Language(s) of God in my Journaling Bible.  When I started, I was going to do Fasting as a way of speaking to God but after listening to a Sermon on Fasting, I realized that was more complicated and I would have to study it more first. So I switched gears midstream and just did some of ways that God speaks to us and vice versa.  There are many more, but I put the ones I could think of quickly here.   The papers are from an old hymnal and Close to My Heart (CTMH).  The gnome is CTMH as well.  Now I have played with all the gnomes in the set,and I totally love them. While looking for the hymnal paper, I ran across an old song book that I was saving.  It was damaged so I knew it would have to be recycled into something....

Some Penguins

Today kicks off the newest Pattie's Creations Challenge which is Tags . Just Tags. No cards with Tags on or in them - just tags. I love to make just tags so this one was right up my alley. I used the super cute Penguin image from Pattie's Creations, but I couldn't stop at just one so I made a little penguin family. My tag is made from an old cardboard box top which I peeled down, painted, distressed a bit, and then added some snow medium. My bow is actually a new bow designed by Pamela Lehto (available at Squigglefly tomorrow). Please join us in the Pattie's Creations Tag Challenge - there are lovely DT tags for inspiration and Pattie gives away wonderful prizes! Hugz!

Stamps, Books, Found Relatives, and More Food

Don't you love getting new stuff?  This is my fun new stuff from  Red Lead Paperworks .   I ordered the fun vintage looking deer stamp and the three Christmas greetings - all were on sale a few weeks ago.  I love getting their packages because they always send some extra little goodies like collage sheets and old tickets plus even their packaging is cute and reusable.  The sheet with the leaves and acorns on the bottom is the other side of the invoice so you can reuse it as well.  I can't wait to play with these fun goodies.  Here is a look at my current reading pile.  I checked Basil's War by Stephen Hunter from the library, my daughter lent me The Paper Palace, and I bought The Host, Going Back to Petrey, and The Lady in Blue from the Thrift Store. I am reading Basil's War and The Lady in Blue at the same time - something I really shouldn't do especially since both books are the kind that switch between stories every chapter.  Th...
