Ladies, Fish, and a Horse

I had a little time to do a BAJ page last night with my daughter consulting (she was making dinner and I was asking her for suggestions on what to do next to the page and she was actually answering).  I had put off doing Psalm 80 because the Psalm actually seemed to have a lot of anger/revenge in it and it just wasn't speaking to me.  I had to do it though because I am not moving to another book in the bible until I have this one done.  Last night I made it a challenge to get it done.  I chose verse 3 only.  We used the Try It on Tuesday Lovely Ladies challenge, the **ART*JOURNAL*JOURNEY* flower challenge, and my daughter's Stash Tea Bag Tag top as our inspiration.  The flowers are all in their hats.  Allie said not to add the fabric flower to the woman's hat but I just had to do it. 
I neglected to post my fish card from last week on my blog.  More new images from DRS Designs.
Also I found I had neglected to post this BAJ page previously as well.  I debated posting it because I never could get happy with the horse.  He is is miniature horse named Lightening.  We babysat him for about 6 years for a friend. I didn't get his face the right size but I haven't ever drawn a horse and I drew him pen versus first trying pencil.  I am proud of it if I think about it being my first horse.  The purple texture was added to cover up something at first but it is expanding mousse and so me and one my grandsons got carried away putting it all over and heating it up.  He loved it. 

I wrote in some bible verses around the horse and in his hair. 
I miss that mean little energetic horse.

    That's a great drawing of the horse!!! You're very talented. Love both the journal pages but yes, I love that horse. Cute card too.....loving all the fish!

    I love how you were able to hit 2 challenges with 1 piece. Thanks for joining us for both. and those fish are once again so cute, but the star (I think) of today is that wonderful horse drawing. It might not look like Lightening but since I don't see a photo of him, I don't know how he looks. So he might as well be Lightening. You are really talented for sure. Hugs-Erika

    How funny... that's the exact Paper Doll that came out to play for my Lovely Ladies contribution too! The sepia warmth of the page is lovely, and I really love the fish card... it made me smile. I definitely feel I'm swimming against the current quite often. Your horse drawing is wonderful - he really has personality.

    I think you did a commendable job with the horse drawing - it is very good - and for a first attempt ten out of ten.

    Absolutely gorgeous - all of them! I love your approach to the Psalm. It's always hard to journal the OT than the new - but you did it so well! LOVE the idea of the fishes going 'against the tide' and the eyes of that horse are wonderful. Thank you so much for the inspiration. I so often look for things to illustrate, rather than treating my BJ as another canvas - if that makes sense - making it so much more difficult to work on them. You've really encouraged me.

Some Penguins

Today kicks off the newest Pattie's Creations Challenge which is Tags . Just Tags. No cards with Tags on or in them - just tags. I love to make just tags so this one was right up my alley. Language Plays, Billiard Balls, and Some "Interesting" Wine

 I always look forward to the new **Art*Journal*Journey* Theme each month. The May theme was chosen by Elle and she chose Language as the theme. So many cool things you can do with that theme.  This weekend I chose to do the Language(s) of God in my Journaling Bible.  When I started, I was going to do Fasting as a way of speaking to God but after listening to a Sermon on Fasting, I realized that was more complicated and I would have to study it more first. So I switched gears midstream and just did some of ways that God speaks to us and vice versa.  There are many more, but I put the ones I could think of quickly here.   The papers are from an old hymnal and Close to My Heart (CTMH).  The gnome is CTMH as well.  Now I have played with all the gnomes in the set,and I totally love them. While looking for the hymnal paper, I ran across an old song book that I was saving.  It was damaged so I knew it would have to be recycled into something....

A Covered Bridge, a Shotgun Wedding, Patton Wisdom, and Some Art

 On our recent vaction, hubby and I got back to our historical marker seeking.  This time we visited the Clarkson Covered Bridge. It is super long and very cool.  We also found a website HERE that has a mapped out tour of Alabama where you can visit 7 in one day - a fun trip for a Fall weekend.  This is the only picture I took of the bridge. The day before, we visited the Patton Musuem at Ft. Knox, Kentucky and viewed Ft. Knox from as close as they will let you get. They say there is still a ton of gold in Ft. Knox - trillions of dollars worth.  We liked the Patton Museum.  I don't agree with most of Patton's management style, but do respect that he accomplished much.  I was impressed with some of his leadership statements like this one which I totally agree with: They have some fabulous items at the museum - hubby could have looked for hours and hours if I had let him.
