A Concert, Peanut Butter and Jelly Burgers and Beer, and My Adorable Grandsons

Hello friends.

This week my youngest daughter turned 26.  I asked her what she wanted for her birthday and she told me she wanted to go see Black Jacket Symphony's Eagles cover concert in Birmingham, AL and she wanted me to go with her.  It was an outdoor concert in the Alabama heat, but since that is all she asked for, I had to go.  Here we are a the concert.
We got our tickets from StubHub and had problems with them. Two hours on hold at their site and they never did ansswer the phone.  The people at Ticket Master were so wonderful and took care of us. We will always get our tickets from Ticket Master in the future!  What great customer service.  Here is Allie right before going into the concert.  My daughter is way cooler than I ever thought of being!
Here is our view at the concert.  I love the Eagles and it was fun that Allie knew all the words to all the songs.
The concert was at the Avondale Brewing Company Ampitheater  in downtown Birmingham.  We even tried their peach beer which was great but then we switched to soda water as we had a long drive home.
Before the concert, we ate at John Brown's Beer and Burger Joint.  They have some unusual hamburgers there like a burger with peanut butter and jelly and peanut butter and jelly beer.  We didn't have these, but I am going to try them next time.  I had the Elvis Burger - peanut butter and bacon.  Allie had a burger with pepper jelly and jalapenos.  Their beef comes from a special ranch and very high quality - you can taste the quality! This picture and the one before are my ticket to Elizabeth's T is for Tuesday Linky Party.

I couldn't resist sharing this adorable picture - the grandsons went to Peach Park and posed for a fun picture.

Hope you have a good week and happy T-Day!

Hugz,

Nancy

  1. THE Eagles? Like Hotel California, Desperado, and Take it Easy, EAGLES? Color me incredibly impressed. Awesome.

I also would love to try that stout, although I'm not sure about the peanut butter stout. Even though I'm a vegetarian, your burgers look good. And how sweet to see your grandchildren, too.

Thanks for taking us to that concert and to the brewery, as well as sharing more beer with us for T this Tuesday, Nancy. What a fabulous post, dear.

  4. Nancy you look like you had so much fun, when we were in Cabos in Mexico they had a trip to the hotel California, we didn’t go but one couple complained about the music, that caused much amusement!
I don’t like peanut butter so would give that a miss but peach beer sounds good.
What gorgeous GSs, so sweet, I’m guessing they aren’t always so sweet if they are anything like our three, ha,ha

  6. You and your daughter look gorgeous together Nancy. You are both very photogenic. I love the Eagles so I bet this was a good concert, and what better birthday gift than to go to a concert with your daughter as she wanted to spend it with you. That practically brings tears to my eyes. I'm close to my daughter too so I get it. And those burgers sound interesting. I would try those. How is peanut butter on a burger? I love peanut butter so I may have to give it a shot, even if it is at home. And your grandsons are adorable. Are any of these your birthday daughter's sons? This is a fun T day post Nancy. Glad you shared it with us. Have a great day. Hugs-Erika

    1. They were excellent, Chris. My daughter actually goes to most their concerts around here. She went to their Queen concert in South Carolina the week before. I always thought it sounded crazy but it was super fun and I will go again.

  17. Nancy gorgeous photo of you and your DD. She looks very cool. I love The Eagles music too and Hotel California always reminds me of a 10 week camping trip I did around Europe with a bus load of Canadians, South Africans and Aussies in my 20s. Those were the days lol. The burger is making me hungry and you can’t beat a burger with a beer. Gorgeous photo of your DGSs…they look cheeky lol. So glad that you had a great day. Hugs from Oz jx

  18. Wow! That sounds great! Were they good? The band I mean. Did they sound like the real Eagles?
I think it was so really special that your daughter wants to go out with you. That in itself is so precious.
I love the Eagles and probably could sing along to most of the better known ones.
The burgers look interesting. I would def try some of the rather obscure ones. I always try what I don't know (Yep, risky, I know). Jelly? Am I right in thinking that in America jelly is what English people call jam? Interesting combination.
Great photos, especially the one with your daughter. Something to treasure (photo as well as the experience).
    Happy belated T-Day,
    Hugs,
    Lisca

  19. Oh, I love the Eagles too Nancy! What a lovely thing to do with your beautiful daughter. She is just like my daughter Beth, who also happens to be 26. She has great style like your Allie.
Your grandsons are so sweet, and those beers and burgers look very yummy.

Forest Goodies and Other Projects

Hello Crafty Friends. I just got the Stamperia Forest Paper and Die Cuts in the mail so I had to play with them right away.   I have a combo creation - journal page and card.  On the journal page I used my 6x6 Dina Wakley Journal and laid a base of gesso.  I then used Dina's pastel crayons and some SU! inks and stamps.  Also added in some TH Dress Ink in Vintage Photo since I don't know how to make anything without it  (seriously).   The eagle is a Stamperia Forest die cut and is coated with gesso.  Did a bit of stenciling and distressing to finish the page off.  I am linking this the the **Art*Journal*Journey* September Texture Theme (last day - can't wait to see what October's Theme will be).  The die cut and the little smears add texture to the already very textured page.   I love the blue and green together and was inspired to made a quick card for my Son-in-law who cut down some tree limbs for us the other day.  The paper in the middle is from the Stamperia Forest

A Martini, Peanut Butter Cupakes, and Art

Hello Friends. Today, I have an ecletic mix of drinks, dessert, and art. First, it's T-day somewhere in the world so time for a drink post which I am linking to Elizabeth's Blog - Altered Book Lover.  Last week we had a work related dinner.  When the waitress asked what I wanted to drink, I had a sudden craving for a martini.  I use to love them, but I guess my tastes have changed because I wasn't a fan.  I was a fan of the chips and dips though! And the day before, I brought my Sister's fabulous peanut butter cupcakes.  Mainly because I was craving them and couldn't ask her to make just one..... Over at **Art*Journal*Journey* Elle picked a theme of Books, Cats, and Tea (you can pick one, two or three of the items).  I did a Bible Journal Page in my Journaling Bible - Luke 13:24-25.  After a layer of Gesso, I took a Sharpie pen and drew the kitty, then the narrow door, and then colored the door with Arteza Brush pens. The verse was written with a Micron pen.  This

Milkshake Malt Porter and a Bit of Art

Hello friends and Happy T-day. It has been hit or miss with me lately on T-day posts. The remodel of our house next door has taken our mental and physical energy.  I think a few more weeks and things will be on the contractor instead of us.  Hopefully I will be back to normal by then. My Oldest Darling Daughter asked if we wanted to come for dinner Saturday.  Translation:  go to the store with me and we will bring part of dinner to your house and you cook the rest.  While at the store, I saw one 6 pack of this fun milkshake porter so, of course, I bought it.  It smells wonderful (a hint of chocolate and a hit of malt) and has a light creamy taste.  I would definitely buy it again if I see it.  My son-in-law did not like it, but he is more a  Miller Lite fan.  Now if this had been a whiskey, he would have been all over it.  LOL.  Linking this to Elizabeth's blog for the T-party gang. Darling Daughter had tried her hand at dried pintos, and she rocked them (I will begging for a rep
