Celebrating my birthday - all week long (it was actually yesterday but I started celebrating on the weekend).
Hubby announced he was game for dinner anywhere so I picked Jack Browns in Birmingham to quench my Elvis Burger craving. I tried to do a knock off of the burger at home, but I don't have any wagu beef and it makes all the difference. Of course, I had to get a peanut butter beer drink to go with my peanut butter burger. What a fun name for this porter. We also went to a local coin and stamp show. Unfortunately, the stamps were paper and not rubber - lol. I did meet very interesting man - the
Stamp Professor - Feliz Luis Perez-Folch, Jr. I included a link to his website as I feel Lisca might be interested (they both love to research the stories behind stamps). He sells stamps, but also he uses them to teach kids about math, history and art. I was walking by his booth and he asked me what I collected. I told him stamps but not the paper kind. He acted interested and politely looked at my many pictures of cards, journal pages, and ATCs. He did dabble in art with stamp caches which are apparently popular in the paper stamp world. I tried to find an example but all I could find is the original issue of the stamps done as a cache.
My porter is my ticket to the
T-day gang over at Elizabeth's blog along with this fun Rainbow Sherbert Sour Ale.
I would higly recommend both along with the cheese fries (made like macaroni and cheese).
Yes, I did gain a pound Saturday, but it was worth it!

HERE. She was the Featured Stamper this week at Splitcoaststampers.com. She loves Stamperia papers so I used some of mine.
I used both the Forest and Alice papers along with a Stamping Up! sentiment on the tag. I think some fussy cutting of images for the tag really make it stand out.
Last night, we did the family celebration of my birthday (two fab Charcuterie trays and more interesting drinks) and tonight we are eating with my brothers and sisters so I will include some pictures next T-day.

DeleteHappy belated birthday Nancy! It sounds like you a had good one. I love peanut butter stout, not every day but as a treat it is always yummy. Especially with your peanut butter Elvis burger. I haven't tried that, but most everything tastes good on a burger so why not peanut butter? And I am curious about a rainbow sherbert sour. Was it fruity? It sounds like you've had a great celebration, and even the stamp show sounds interesting. I hope you have a great T and start to your birthday month...smile. Hugs-Erika

DeleteHi Nancy and happy belated birthday-sounds like it was very fun. Eating out with special foods and drinks. The stamp show would have been fun. My late father in law made his money buying and selling stamps-he even hosted a huge stamp show in Chicago one year. stamps do have allot of history.

Thanks, Kathy! The most unusual thing about the show was that it was in the small town next to us instead of one of the larger cities. I bet that stamp show in Chicago was amazing!

Kate, I think the varieties is a new thing, but it is really fun to try them. Some are duds for sure, but I celebrate the art and marketing on the cans anyway. Thanks for the birthdaywishes.
