Spiritual Weather, Lots of Desserts, and Fancy Water

Hello friends,

Work has been super busy so I haven't had a chance to post in a few weeks.  I did get this Bible Journal page done this weekend.  It fits Chris' All Kinds of Weather theme at **ART*JOURNAL*JOURNEY* as the page has it raining down Truth and Light which is a spiritual weather.. but still weather.  It is also kind of foggy in my scene - caused by lack of patience these days.  I definately need to be in my Bible more!

I had already done the stripes on the page before and never liked them, but finished it off with a bit of a scene and now I really like it. Some beautiful words on this scripture.  Ones I needed to read and pay attention too as I have been super focused on work (lots of people out sick so we are all having to do some extra work to cover) and do not have my life priorities straight.

I went to dinner at Central Restaurant in Montgomery, Alabama with two of my work friends last week.  We all had dessert. - one of the best things at that restaurant.  The dessert was so pretty I wanted to share it and the cool way they served water (in old wine bottles).  I am also linking this post up and sharing it with those darling T-day girls who meet up each week to share our drink related posts over at Elizabeth's blog.

This was my dessert:  pistachio cheesecake with a chantilly cream, toasted pistachios, and blueberry compote,  Yum!
Jake's mile high lemon meringue pie with lemon curd and torched meringue.
Sweet potato creme brulee with ginger snap cookies and dried meringue.
It was an adventure for sure.  The sweet potato creme brulee was the best.

Hope you are having a great week so far, happy Thanksgiving if you celebrate it, and many hugz to all who visit here.  I appreciate you and I am thankful for your time and encouragement.

Nancy

  1. Those desserts look to die for. I don't know which one I would pick. I might have to sample all 3-smile. And sounds like life has been busy. I hope you get some down time over Thanksgiving. Your Bible page came out great and is perfect for Chris' challenge at AJJ. Thanks so much for joining us. It is amazing how good art can make you feel when life is busy, isn't it? I hope you have a wonderful T and Thanksgiving holiday and week ahead. Hugs-Erika

  12. What a beautiful journal page. I like the idea of 'spiritual weather' and raining down truth and light. I too need to be lead by God's truth and light. It's good to remember that. I sometimes stick verses on my computer monitor. I think this week it will be this verse. Thank you.
Oh those desserts! They look soooo scrummy! I don't know which I would have chosen. I think the high lemon meringue pie.
    Happy T-Day,
    Have a great week,
    Hugs

  15. I have really got to get more Bible journaling done - this is a great example of how to create a page. Do you clear gesso first? You created a beautiful scene for my theme at AJJ and those are wonderful words - Thank you.
Oh My! Those desserts - Sweet potato creme brûlée sounds good but I love pistachio too - no matter if I was full I would just have to have one! Belated Happy T Day, Chrisx

Unopened Mail And My Grocery List

We arrived back from our Las Vegas trip last night so the only thing on my Kitchen Counter is unopened mail and my grocery list.  I have looked up the recipes for most the great food we ate (or wish we ate) in Las Vegas including Bacon Waffles and Chicken and Waffles - so my counter top should look awesome tomorrow (or as soon as I get a waffle maker).  We had lots of fun in Las Vegas but not as much as Crystal and Joey.  If we were still 21 we would have had a blast!  No luck with gambling - but I only gained 1 pound which is a miracle!

Christmas Mice

Hello Crafty Friends, Today, I am playing in some fun challenges with this cute card: The current House-Mouse &Friends Monday Challenge HMFMC #461 is Anything Goes with an optional theme of Pastels. I have some pastel paper in my layers. This card was made with ornaments from a SU! set, a cut up sentiment from RedLead Paperworks, and three mice I cut out of the Spellbinders Sew Sweet stamp set. The background was inspired by Jeanne Streiff's MIX challenge on Splitcoaststampers.com last Friday where she asked us to make a background using a die cut as a stencil.

T is For 10 Years of T-Day, Too much food, and The Art (Always the Art)

Hello Friends. Most of today's post is about celebrating 10 years of Elizabeth hosting T-day parties on her blog .  If you have visited me before, you know that I regularily participate in T-day where we all post something about a drink of any type (the drink can be anything including water and the post can be a real drink, words, movies, art, etc.) on Tuesday (or Monday lol) and link it to Elizabeth's T-day blog post for the week.   This year Elizabeth is asking us to post several things in celebration of the big anniversary.   #1.   Post a picture of something that makes the number 10. I used 10 art supplies that were near me.  I am starting to make more Christmas cards so these were right at hand.  #2.   Post our regular T-day picture/post.  My drink picture today is a lunch we had in Tybee Island last week during our Georgia trip.  We ate at Pier 16 .  Great food and service. It was our favorite meal during the trip. ...
