Saturday Playdate - Paint, Nature, and Faces

Yesterday, I had some free time and two of my grandsons, so we decided to do another session of #Wanderlust2022Class.  We had a blast with these and I thought I would share them with you.  They were painted with some very interesting items!

This was mine.  I am linking it up to **ART*JOURNAL*JOURNEY* where Erika's January theme is Let's Face It.

This one ws done by my grandson, Lewis (age 6).  He said he was going for a tornado look.  I think he accomplished his mission don't you?
This one was done by my grandson, Hollis (age 4). He said black was too dark for him!
We had a lot of fun.

Thanks for visiting!

Hugz,

Nancy

  1. These are great Nancy. I love that eye you drew. And keeping it all black and white makes it so dramatic. Lewis certainly did create a tornado effect. I smiled at all the TH people he added. I like Hollis' too. Abstract art is calling him. You must have had a blast with the boys and your supplies. Thanks for sharing these with us at Art Journal Journey and squeezing in another face piece before the month wraps up. I appreciate it. Enjoy the end of the month. hugs-Erika

  5. What a lovely journal page you created. I love that quote. It is hilarious. You have a wicked sense of humor. I also love the eye and the lady, too.

Your six year old grandson made a fabulous tornado. I guess you (and I) probably know a lot about tornadoes. Thanks so much for sharing these three journal pages with us at Art Journal Journey using Erika's theme. So clever.

  8. Aaw bless Hollis,, black was too dark for him. I think it is lovely that you are encouraging the boys to do some crafting with you and I am beginning to think I am missing a lot with not joining these Wanderlust classes I see so many of you do. Lewis certainly achieved the look he wanted and those poor males caught up in the tornado. ouch!
Love the eye you painted and the way you have your lovely lady sitting there - fabulous words too just perfect.
    Hugs, Neet xx

Flowers, a Flag, and Some Wise Words

Hello Crafty Friends! I love Halle's theme at **Art*Journal*Journey* this month: Botanicals. So many possibilities... I combined the botanical theme with some of the colors in ARTNUDGE#725A and came up with this Bible Art Journal page focusing on 1 Timothy 2:1-2. I also made a patriotic prayer card too. In these verses, Paul tells Timothy (and all of us) to pray for everyone but he especially calls out prayer for kings and leaders. He indicates that this type of prayer could lead us to a tranquil and quite life in all godliness and dignity. I think we can all agree that the world needs much prayer right now and it is an easy step we can take.   I experimented on this journal page. I usually cover any bible journal pages with gesso before painting on them, but I have issues with the gesso gumming up my Micron pens or unevenly taking color. This time I used Daniel Smith Ground Medium in Titanium White (I mixed it with 10 parts water). I loved it and will be using it in the fut...

Wise Words for Life's Storms

My first post as a Guest Designer for Creative Worship Stamps. This watercolor and ink card features one of my favorite CWS sentiments - Big God . I am so grateful He is there in storms and this stamp beautifully underscores His power. The main panel of this card is watercolor paper and was painted with Daniel Smith Watercolors and Liquid Ink (the white highlights in the rain drops). The words were stamped with black ink from Close to My Heart. Hugz, Nancy
