A Sparkly Horse and a Camo Flower


The CAS challenge on SCS is celebrating its 200th challenge with a big birthday celebration during December. There are lots of challenges that posted this weekend and they run through December. Challenge C is to use the Dazzing Diamond Dust technique. I couldn't get get to my Embossing supplies due to the continued remodeling in my craft room, so I had to cheat and use glossy accents and some Dazzling Diamond Dust. I used my very favorite stamp set from SU!, Wild Wild West. It retired several years ago and I totally love it. I needed a birthday card for my niece, Holly. She loves horses so I focused just on the horse in the canyon scene. I had to cut out DA MAN, but he can't ge the star all the time - LOL!


This card was done for the Featured Stamper challenge at SCS. This week's Featured Stamper is Mayodino. I cased her card here. This is for my husband's birthday so I used the sleeve off one of his hunting shirts (he cut it off not me so don't worry). I know he is going to laugh hysterically when he gets this. I used the Tattered Flowers die from Tim Holtz to make the flower.

    Two beauties, Nancy :) Love the negative in the star (sparkly cowboy for Mz. Pamzi by any chance LOL!) and love all the woodgrain on the second. Lovely bow and flower too!

    Two outstanding cards. I agree that the man doesn't always need to be the star. Love that big ribbon. Your husbands cards is a keeper that's for sure. You'll have to let us know what he says about it, if he can stop laughing that is.

    Both cards are so nicely done. You are so fortunate to have that fantastic stamp...great job using it. I've never seen a card made with that stamp that I did not like it...and yours is great too.

 I always look forward to the new **Art*Journal*Journey* Theme each month. The May theme was chosen by Elle and she chose Language as the theme. So many cool things you can do with that theme.  This weekend I chose to do the Language(s) of God in my Journaling Bible.  When I started, I was going to do Fasting as a way of speaking to God but after listening to a Sermon on Fasting, I realized that was more complicated and I would have to study it more first. Some Penguins

Today kicks off the newest Pattie's Creations Challenge which is Tags . Just Tags. No cards with Tags on or in them - just tags. I love to make just tags so this one was right up my alley. I used the super cute Penguin image from Pattie's Creations, but I couldn't stop at just one so I made a little penguin family. My tag is made from an old cardboard box top which I peeled down, painted, distressed a bit, and then added some snow medium. My bow is actually a new bow designed by Pamela Lehto (available at Squigglefly tomorrow). Stamps, Books, Found Relatives, and More Food

 Don't you love getting new stuff?  This is my fun new stuff from  Red Lead Paperworks .   I ordered the fun vintage looking deer stamp and the three Christmas greetings - all were on sale a few weeks ago.  I love getting their packages because they always send some extra little goodies like collage sheets and old tickets plus even their packaging is cute and reusable.  The sheet with the leaves and acorns on the bottom is the other side of the invoice so you can reuse it as well.  I can't wait to play with these fun goodies.  Here is a look at my current reading pile.  I checked Basil's War by Stephen Hunter from the library, my daughter lent me The Paper Palace, and I bought The Host, Going Back to Petrey, and The Lady in Blue from the Thrift Store.
