Some Cases and Some Christmas Wishes

I was able to make several cards this weekend - hope you had a productive weekend too. I found some extra time in some unique ways:

*I made a pasta salad and forgot to take it to a crop so didn't have to make dinner Saturday night.
*I bribed my youngest daughter to put up the Christmas trees.
*Today I got some hair die in my eye and had to flush it out for awhile so I was able to skip the weekly grocery trip and a shopping trip to Birmingham (of course it made it hard to see my cards - LOL - but now I am fine so don't worry).

These are a few cards I made with my found time:

I am still in love with this fun Whimsy Stamps image done by Liastampz (Aisha with Friends is the name I think)! I was inspired by THIS card done by Sharri (sseffens on SCS). Sharri's card is such a darling card, and I tried to capture her fun style and use of color. I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Pile It On #49 - Pile on the Embellishments
Stampin' for the Weekend #22 - Add Some Texture

I did this fun card using the Retro Sketch #40 Sketch and a fun Pattie's Creation image. I really like this sketch!

I was inspired by THIS lovely card made by Crafty Julia at SCS - Julia was named the Queen for the Day. I used Lily Pink Designs' Christmas Baubles and Delightfully Distressing Digi Paper which are both available at Can You Digi It?

I am entering this card in the Love to Create Challenge - Non Traditional Christmas Colors and the Addicted to CAS: ATCAS#2 - Baubles.

I actually have a lot more cards, but I am going to wait until Tuesday to post them. Hope this week is wonderful for you all and that you find some extra time in better ways than I did!

  1. Nancy you've had quite the weekend. I hope your eye is OK now and the trees all look pretty (thank you daughter). You came up with three outstanding cards here. I especially love the last card. The colors are just so very nice. Hope your week ahead is fun filled.

  2. You've been busy! Great work on all three. Think the last one is my fave ;)

  3. WOW! Those are not the best ways to find time for yourself now are they?! I hope your eye is OK, ouch!
Your cards are all beautiful creations! I just love that fun image on the first, and the deer on the 2nd are so playful in the snow, and I love those pompoms! Great job on all 3, you're on a serious roll - now just be careful please! LOL

  4. Great cards all of them and glad you got plenty of time to play - bribery and forgetfulness sound like good options for gaining time but not convinced about eye accidents!!! I love that Liastampz image too, so much fun and your card design is perfect for it :)

  5. Love your bauble and the sentiment is beautiful. Thanks so much for playing along at ATCAS! xx

  6. LOL Well, I found some extra time, but it was because I'm sick. I doubt that's what you meant. :-) Sounds like you had a pretty eventful weekend Nancy. The cards came out beautifully. I especially like the last one. Hope you have a less eventful week and all is well with your eye! Hugs!

  7. All of your cards are amazing...I love what you did for the challenge, those deer are so sweet.

  8. Nancy you have had a creative weekend! I like all three of your cards. I really like the last one and I think it's because of the sentiment. Love the colors.

  9. You have had a busy weekend Nancy,All 3 cards are fabulous I love the image on the first card, the design of the second card and the sentiment and design of the third card, now what I want to know is how are you going to get extra crafting time next weekend lol.
    Kevin xx

Forest Goodies and Other Projects

Hello Crafty Friends. I just got the Stamperia Forest Paper and Die Cuts in the mail so I had to play with them right away.   I have a combo creation - journal page and card.  On the journal page I used my 6x6 Dina Wakley Journal and laid a base of gesso.  I then used Dina's pastel crayons and some SU! inks and stamps.  Also added in some TH Dress Ink in Vintage Photo since I don't know how to make anything without it  (seriously).   The eagle is a Stamperia Forest die cut and is coated with gesso.  Did a bit of stenciling and distressing to finish the page off.  I am linking this the the **Art*Journal*Journey* September Texture Theme (last day - can't wait to see what October's Theme will be).  The die cut and the little smears add texture to the already very textured page.   I love the blue and green together and was inspired to made a quick card for my Son-in-law who cut down some tree limbs for us the other day.  The paper in the middle is from the Stamperia Forest

Brotherhood Wishes, a Paper Purse, and a Special Mug

Hello friends. No more fun travel or parade pictures - back to every day normal life.  On a positive note, I have been able to fit in some art. Hereis an art journal spread I finished this weekend. I am adding it to Alison's Summer Landscape challenge theme at **Art*Journal*Journey* .   I started the pages in my journal around July 4th after seeing Dina's stripes inspired Mixed Media challenge on and got as far as stamping some foliage at the bottom.  I was stuck after that, and I wasn't sure where to go with it next.  A few days later, I was clearing out some things in the craft room and ran across a Thomas Kinkade book I cut up and use in my Bible Journaling.  There was a picture of  the San Francisco Bridge and another of some mountains so I tore them out and added them to my page with Gesso representing some of the beautiful things in America and also Alison's countryside theme.  They did not blend in very well and I needed to alter them to wo

A Bit of Tea, Horses, and a Cowboy

I love when my children follow in my footsteps and beyond (only the cool footsteps, of course).   My daughter, Allie, has developed a love of tea.  She sent me this picture over the weekend of her having tea in her newly remodelled bedroom.   She was drinking Breakfast in Paris tea in one of her favorite thrift store mugs.  This is my ticket to the T-day gathering over at Elizabeth's blog .  To join us, all you have to do is have a drink related post (can be any type of drink).   The neighborhood horses have been gathering in our backyard for some reason. Our horse refuses to come up near our house because the lady who owns all these horses gives her much better treats.  They all jump the fences and visit everyone.  The mule in the picture is actually named after me because I named one of cows after the neighbor (he paid me back - lol). I gave them apples when they came on Sunday, and they have come back every day since - lol.  We had a bit of sadness yesterday when another neighb
