A Bunch of Flowers


The new Squigglefly Challenge asks us to use a flower on our card (can be on the bg paper, the image, or an embellishment). I started with one flower, but it looked better with two and then looked better with three until it ended up like this with a bunch of flowers. I find it very easy to do cards with flowers until someone tells me I have to have a flower on my card and then I am stuck - this card took me awhile! LOL! My image is Sam's Rainy Day by Cheryl Alger. It is one of my all time favorite Squigglefly images. I use it for almost every occasion. This card is actually now sitting in a rehab center on the side table of one my Mom's all time best friends. She loved it. Inside it says: "I hope sunnier days are in your future." She is now on her fourth or fifth knee surgery. This one was a success so she is much more upbeat.

This card is also for the Sassy Cheryl Challenge - Make a Splash.

So grab a Squigglefly image and some flowers or a Squigglefly image with flowers and join us in this super fun challenge. It is so fun that I decided to make two cards again. Here is my CAS card:


This image is by Diana Garrison and is called Cookies. This one makes me want some cookies and hot chocolate right now!

All my flowers except the purple one are from Wild Orchid Crafts - a very dangerous and lovely place!

    Nancy, Two fabulous cards. I love the bunch of flowers on your first card with that precious image. There is something about a monochromatic card really grabs the eye and with your pop of the pink flower, it becomes stunning. Your second card is just as stunning with you flowers in the vase. Simple yet oh-so- elegant. Enjoy your day.

    Two gorgeous cards Nancy, I love the image and the flowers on the first card, I like the way you have put the flower in the vase on the second card, one day we will have a cuppa and a cookie together lol.

    Flowers are so beautifully designed n pinned..i dont know ur card lingo..but of late i must say i am thrilled to see ur work with layers..superb..well not just hope..but believe..as yesterday's cloudy sky appeared so blue today morning here, sunnier days are always waiting...well by the time u come and see this post u will see 3 cookies missing!!!! fef

    A very uplifting card for your Mom's friend. I love it and I was wondering where you got those gorgeous flowers. I've visited Wild Orchid but never ordered....sure need to do that.

    wow - I adore both of these so much Nancy! The first one is so darling and I'm sure cheered up your mom's friend. I love the paper pieced umbrella and I think you came up with a darling sentiment. Your second card is amazingly pretty! I think you're a genius to put a real rose bud in the vase! Fantastic!

    Oh! That cookie card is just dreamy! I like the soft buttery yellow you used, and the doily behind the image (just like at a real bakery). The first card is cute too, and reminds me of the Morton Salt girl!

Unopened Mail And My Grocery List

We arrived back from our Las Vegas trip last night so the only thing on my Kitchen Counter is unopened mail and my grocery list.  I have looked up the recipes for most the great food we ate (or wish we ate) in Las Vegas including Bacon Waffles and Chicken and Waffles - so my counter top should look awesome tomorrow (or as soon as I get a waffle maker).  We had lots of fun in Las Vegas but not as much as Crystal and Joey.  If we were still 21 we would have had a blast!  No luck with gambling - but I only gained 1 pound which is a miracle!

Christmas Mice

Hello Crafty Friends, Today, I am playing in some fun challenges with this cute card: The current House-Mouse &Friends Monday Challenge HMFMC #461 is Anything Goes with an optional theme of Pastels. I have some pastel paper in my layers. This card was made with ornaments from a SU! set, a cut up sentiment from RedLead Paperworks, and three mice I cut out of the Spellbinders Sew Sweet stamp set. The background was inspired by Jeanne Streiff's MIX challenge on Splitcoaststampers.com last Friday where she asked us to make a background using a die cut as a stencil.

T is For 10 Years of T-Day, Too much food, and The Art (Always the Art)

Hello Friends. Most of today's post is about celebrating 10 years of Elizabeth hosting T-day parties on her blog .  If you have visited me before, you know that I regularily participate in T-day where we all post something about a drink of any type (the drink can be anything including water and the post can be a real drink, words, movies, art, etc.) on Tuesday (or Monday lol) and link it to Elizabeth's T-day blog post for the week.   This year Elizabeth is asking us to post several things in celebration of the big anniversary.   #1.   Post a picture of something that makes the number 10. I used 10 art supplies that were near me.  I am starting to make more Christmas cards so these were right at hand.  #2.   Post our regular T-day picture/post.  My drink picture today is a lunch we had in Tybee Island last week during our Georgia trip.  We ate at Pier 16 .  Great food and service.
