A Bunch of Cards!

I had an extra long weekend and I made a bunch of cards! I wanted to share a few of my favorites with you:

The image on this is from Delicious Doodles and it is called Mother Duck and Duckling. I made this for a friend of my daughter. She requested a duck image but wanted it to be only one layer. I am entering this in the current Delicious Doodles Challenge which is Anything Goes with your favorite color(s). My favorite colors are green and blue but when it comes to cards I love black and brown as well.

This one was done for a challenge on SCS involving maps. My image is a new one available at Squigglefly by Cheryl Grant Alger called Another Door Opens Sally.

This card was made for the Inspiration Challenge on SCS. I hand cut the heart and the flowers.

Done for the MIX challenge and the Inspiration Challenge on SCS. I made it by mixing glue and ink an embossing folder and running it through the Big Shot.

Made for the FS challenge on SCS using ink and glue on an ef. My sentiment is from the MFP set Out on the Town.

Made using the OUt on the Town MFP Sentiment for one of the DG Challenges on SCS.

Made for another DG challenge on SCS - I made this one by rubbing down my ef with Versamark and using heat and stick powder and then rubbing in some Sparkle n Sprinkle glitter. IRL this thing lights up a room.

I made more but I am just showing you my favorites so you don't fall asleep looking at this post.

Hugz!

  3. Wow, Nancy...what a busy girl you've been. These are all fabulous cards. I won't attempt to even say which are my favorites. I think you must work a lot faster than this girl. I think it would take me a loooooong time to make this many. :-) Huggies~~~

Language Plays, Billiard Balls, and Some "Interesting" Wine

I always look forward to the new **Art*Journal*Journey* Theme each month. The May theme was chosen by Elle and she chose Language as the theme. So many cool things you can do with that theme.  This weekend I chose to do the Language(s) of God in my Journaling Bible.  When I started, I was going to do Fasting as a way of speaking to God but after listening to a Sermon on Fasting, I realized that was more complicated and I would have to study it more first. So I switched gears midstream and just did some of ways that God speaks to us and vice versa.  There are many more, but I put the ones I could think of quickly here.   The papers are from an old hymnal and Close to My Heart (CTMH).  The gnome is CTMH as well.  Now I have played with all the gnomes in the set,and I totally love them. While looking for the hymnal paper, I ran across an old song book that I was saving.  It was damaged so I knew it would have to be recycled into something....

Some Penguins

Today kicks off the newest Pattie's Creations Challenge which is Tags . Just Tags. No cards with Tags on or in them - just tags. I love to make just tags so this one was right up my alley. I used the super cute Penguin image from Pattie's Creations, but I couldn't stop at just one so I made a little penguin family. My tag is made from an old cardboard box top which I peeled down, painted, distressed a bit, and then added some snow medium. My bow is actually a new bow designed by Pamela Lehto (available at Squigglefly tomorrow). Please join us in the Pattie's Creations Tag Challenge - there are lovely DT tags for inspiration and Pattie gives away wonderful prizes! Hugz!

Stamps, Books, Found Relatives, and More Food

Don't you love getting new stuff?  This is my fun new stuff from  Red Lead Paperworks .   I ordered the fun vintage looking deer stamp and the three Christmas greetings - all were on sale a few weeks ago.  I love getting their packages because they always send some extra little goodies like collage sheets and old tickets plus even their packaging is cute and reusable.  The sheet with the leaves and acorns on the bottom is the other side of the invoice so you can reuse it as well.  I can't wait to play with these fun goodies.  Here is a look at my current reading pile.  I checked Basil's War by Stephen Hunter from the library, my daughter lent me The Paper Palace, and I bought The Host, Going Back to Petrey, and The Lady in Blue from the Thrift Store. I am reading Basil's War and The Lady in Blue at the same time - something I really shouldn't do especially since both books are the kind that switch between stories every chapter.  Th...
