T is for P: Pizza, a Peacock, a Pocket Letter

It's T-day again over at Elizabeth's blog where we all post something related to drinks.  Today my drink is a Sparkling Ice drink which my daughter and I love.  Here we are at her new house eating a wonderful pizza from Fox's Pizza (half chicken rancher and half pepperoni) and sharing an Ice drink (we are sitting in the couch out of the camera's eye of course.  The drink was appropriate as it was like ice in her house as she never had her gas turned on and we had a cold snap.

Here is what the drink looks like prior to opening.

After we ate pizza she convinced me to go to the Art Guild and see the local art displayed there.  This was my favorite piece they were displaying.  The artist was there and we talked to her a bit.  She tried to convince me to come this Saturday and do their Art Walk.  Evidently you sign up and they give you a package of art supplies.  You walk around downtown and draw/paint something.  Then they display all the art during the next week. I am not sure I will go, but maybe.....

Saturday, I went to a crop at my Aunt Joan's.  I worked on several cards and a new pocket letter.

This is made with Close to My heart papers and images other than the headline and two other outside banners which I printed on my computer.  The rolled roses in the bottom left were ones I did years ago and had sitting in a jar. I painted all the flowers with my finger as I forgot to bring a brush - lol.

Hope the weather is lovely wherever you are - here is cold - too cold for us and too cold for Spring.

Hugz and Happy T-day.

  1. Hi Nancy, it sounds like you have been having lots of fun. Glad you visited the art guild, it sounds like fun! And the pizza looks sooooooooo good, I think we will go for another Pizza this week. Love the beautiful crafting you made, that pocket letter is gorgeous. Happy T Day, hugs, Valerie

  2. I hope the old superstition about peacock feathers is wrong, for the sake of whoever buys that interesting art work!

    best…. mae at

  3. That pizza looks SOOOOOO good. And I have stupid potatoes in the pan.
    Oh, lucky you!
That art walk sounds interesting, I hope you go.
    Beautiful cards.
    With your finger?! That works?
To cold here, also. But have a nice T-day anyways, hugz
P.S. horrible. Only 15 days and not in a row?! Is that legal?

    1. My finger work, but I have to tell you I got some really crazy looks from the others! I couldn't get it exact as you will see, but then it worked well plus I did a light touch on most of them. Yes 15 days and not in a row is very legal. Many places only allow two weeks. In another few years, I would get another week added. At my previous job, I got 5 weeks but that was after 19 years and I was much higher up.

  4. Good morning, your pizza looks so good-I need to made us one soon. I keep that ice drink around all the time here-no sugar or salt added and they always taste good too with many flavors to choose from.
That art walk sounds interesting and could be a fun way to create art. If you go share some photos. Happy T and Happy Spring

  5. Congrats on your daughter having a new house. From the little peek we saw it looks lovely. And that pizza looks delicious. I want some now, even if it is breakfast time. Smile. I like the idea of the art show and how you get your work shown. It sounds like it could be fun. Happy T day Nancy. And happy spring to you also. Did you ever go to Connecticut for work? Hugs-Erika

    1. I did go to Connecticut for work and got to meet with the DRS Designs owners. It was a lovely trip and it was so beautiful there! My next trip is California - haven't been there in 35 years!

  6. Blessings to your daughter and all who enter her home. The Sparkling Ice Drinks are delicious. Looks like you had a fun and productive time at the Crop. After snow the weekend before, we are finally getting a little taste of Spring. Sunshine, not a lot of wind, and temps in the 50s. Short lived as a cold front is coming through tomorrow with rain for Thurs. Happy T Day

  7. Hi Nancy!!!! Pizza is always welcome... My daughter likes those ICE drinks, not me so much.. Nice trip to the Art Guild and i like that peacock too! The ArtWalk might be fun.. free? And showing your lovely art is always a good thing.. Looking forward to being swap partners. i emailed you my address.. Happy T day ! Hugs! deb

  8. The art walk sounds like fun and interesting and somehow I think this will be perfect for you. It is a lovely idea anyway, no matter whether yoyu go or not, as it might motivate to do just that and get a little creative.

  9. I have several of those Ice drinks in my fridge. I love them. Your daughter's new hoe looks lovely, at least the snippet we got to see! Your pizza looks good, too. Lots of tasty ingredients on it.

That is a beautiful peacock. I have no idea what may is referring to, but I sure like that beauty. You should go on Saturday and get free art supplies, too (grin),

I love those flowers you colored for your pocket letter. I can't believe you colored those using your finger. Even your finger is talented!!!

Thanks for sharing your art, the art in town, your daughter's new home, the pizza, and your Ice with us for T this Tuesday, dear Nancy.

  10. Pizza night is one of my hubby's fave nights! Love the art and that you used your fingers. How fun is that? So fun.

  11. Nancy, I like your choice of a favorite art piece. I liked it, too. I think you should take part in the art event. :) The pizza looked good. Happy t day.

  13. favorite is always pizza!! That peacock artwork is amazing! Looks like you're having so much fun with those pocket letters! Really loving the different blooms popped against the black background!! Have a great day!

  14. sorry I haven't been around lately, spent a few weeks in the UK and then got sick for a few weeks. Love your pocket letters, perfect will all the summer blooms xx

  15. The pizza and drinks look great but I do hope that by now your daughter has the heating fixed!
The art walk sounds interesting and I hope you decide to go(hope the weather gets warmer though ;-) Your pocket letters are stunning - love that you painted with your fingers! Belated Happy T Day, hugs, Chrisx

  16. I like the peacock picture very much - especially because of the idea of draping the feathers all around. The Art Walk also sounds exciting - I'm curious if you do it.
All the best and have a nice weekend!
    Hugs, Traude 😘

  17. The art walk sounds fabulous to me. Tell us about it if you go. Nice to get together to do crafty things isn't it?

Forest Goodies and Other Projects

Hello Crafty Friends. I just got the Stamperia Forest Paper and Die Cuts in the mail so I had to play with them right away.   I have a combo creation - journal page and card.  On the journal page I used my 6x6 Dina Wakley Journal and laid a base of gesso.  I then used Dina's pastel crayons and some SU! inks and stamps.  Also added in some TH Dress Ink in Vintage Photo since I don't know how to make anything without it  (seriously).   The eagle is a Stamperia Forest die cut and is coated with gesso.  Did a bit of stenciling and distressing to finish the page off.  I am linking this the the **Art*Journal*Journey* September Texture Theme (last day - can't wait to see what October's Theme will be).  The die cut and the little smears add texture to the already very textured page.   I love the blue and green together and was inspired to made a quick card for my Son-in-law who cut down some tree limbs for us the other day.  The paper in the middle is from the Stamperia Forest

A Bit of Tea, Horses, and a Cowboy

I love when my children follow in my footsteps and beyond (only the cool footsteps, of course).   My daughter, Allie, has developed a love of tea.  She sent me this picture over the weekend of her having tea in her newly remodelled bedroom.   She was drinking Breakfast in Paris tea in one of her favorite thrift store mugs.  This is my ticket to the T-day gathering over at Elizabeth's blog .  To join us, all you have to do is have a drink related post (can be any type of drink).   The neighborhood horses have been gathering in our backyard for some reason. Our horse refuses to come up near our house because the lady who owns all these horses gives her much better treats.  They all jump the fences and visit everyone.  The mule in the picture is actually named after me because I named one of cows after the neighbor (he paid me back - lol). I gave them apples when they came on Sunday, and they have come back every day since - lol.  We had a bit of sadness yesterday when another neighb

Brotherhood Wishes, a Paper Purse, and a Special Mug

Hello friends. No more fun travel or parade pictures - back to every day normal life.  On a positive note, I have been able to fit in some art. Hereis an art journal spread I finished this weekend. I am adding it to Alison's Summer Landscape challenge theme at **Art*Journal*Journey* .   I started the pages in my journal around July 4th after seeing Dina's stripes inspired Mixed Media challenge on and got as far as stamping some foliage at the bottom.  I was stuck after that, and I wasn't sure where to go with it next.  A few days later, I was clearing out some things in the craft room and ran across a Thomas Kinkade book I cut up and use in my Bible Journaling.  There was a picture of  the San Francisco Bridge and another of some mountains so I tore them out and added them to my page with Gesso representing some of the beautiful things in America and also Alison's countryside theme.  They did not blend in very well and I needed to alter them to wo
