BAJ: The Storms of Life

Hello Friends.

I have a Bible Art Journaling (BAJ) page to share today.  I cased THIS page by my friend MariLynn over at Splitcoaststampers.com (she is this week's Featured Stamper).

I used the same verses as inspiration and kept her storming sea and shoreline.  I changed up the painting a bit doing different strokes, a stormier sky, etc.  I also did my journaling differently and added a snip of a magazine that fell out of my journaling bible when I started this (our storms in life often lead to adventures like they did for Paul).  I actually think a lot of his approach to storms when I have physical or mental storms (even tornados).

I used Daniel Smith watercolors and white and black gel pens to do this page.

I added three birds so it fits with Alison's Come Fly With Me theme at **ART*JOURNAL*JOURNEY*.   The three birds represent something from one of my daughter's recent dreams - something very dear to her.

Thank you for visiting!

Hugz,

Nancy

  1. Wow, this is a gorgeous border to your bible page Nancy. You definitely nailed the water and the grey skies. I like how you carried it just a bit into the verse too. And I don't know much about dreams, but I like the 3 birds. Smile. Thanks for joining us at AJJ for Alison's challenge. Happy new week. hugs-Erika

Forest Goodies and Other Projects

Hello Crafty Friends. I just got the Stamperia Forest Paper and Die Cuts in the mail so I had to play with them right away.   I have a combo creation - journal page and card.  On the journal page I used my 6x6 Dina Wakley Journal and laid a base of gesso.  I then used Dina's pastel crayons and some SU! inks and stamps.  Also added in some TH Dress Ink in Vintage Photo since I don't know how to make anything without it  (seriously).   The eagle is a Stamperia Forest die cut and is coated with gesso.  Did a bit of stenciling and distressing to finish the page off.  I am linking this the the **Art*Journal*Journey* September Texture Theme (last day - can't wait to see what October's Theme will be).  The die cut and the little smears add texture to the already very textured page.   I love the blue and green together and was inspired to made a quick card for my Son-in-law who cut down some tree limbs for us the other day....

Some Penguins

Today kicks off the newest Pattie's Creations Challenge which is Tags . Just Tags. No cards with Tags on or in them - just tags. I love to make just tags so this one was right up my alley. I used the super cute Penguin image from Pattie's Creations, but I couldn't stop at just one so I made a little penguin family. My tag is made from an old cardboard box top which I peeled down, painted, distressed a bit, and then added some snow medium. My bow is actually a new bow designed by Pamela Lehto (available at Squigglefly tomorrow). Please join us in the Pattie's Creations Tag Challenge - there are lovely DT tags for inspiration and Pattie gives away wonderful prizes! Hugz!

Bear-ied In Paperwork

Back again, with a card for this week's House Mouse & Friends Monday Challenge ( HMFMC#424 ).  This week the challenge is Anything goes with the option of scraps of paper. I took the option literally and added scraps of paper on my kitchen counter.  I needed a thank you card for someone who has been helping us organize A LOT of papers.   I stamped the image (House Mouse Gruffies Bear-ied in Paperwork -2007) using CTMH Black, then coloring the image with Daniel Smith Watercolors.  I drew in an extra paper or two so that I could make one of them a Thank You paper - it is the top right and shaded pink.  Thanks for visiting, Nancy
